Logan Lerman Leaves ‘Percy Jackson 3’ And Alexandra Daddario In The Past To Make Movies Like ‘Indignation’ That Challenges Actor

Logan Lerman is trying his darnedest to be a serious actor, but it looks like he is going through a lot of growing pains. While big Hollywood movies like Percy Jackson and Perks of Being a Wallflower did wonders for his fame, he didn’t like the fact that he continued to get typecast as a teenage boy. Starting with Fury, he decided to get very serious and is now only picking up projects that challenges him.

And crafting a new path in his movie career means that he has forgotten about his past with Alexandra Daddario, whom he dated for a short while a year ago.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Logan Lerman revealed all the hard work that he does as a young actor wanting to break his previously set image. He went into lengths about how he approached his work for his latest movie Indignation.

“Sometimes it’s hard to like him,” he said as he described his character Marcus. “But that’s part of the job, you know — protagonist, antagonist, you really want to feel for them. That is our jobs as actors.”

“When an audience member or reader or you looks at this material and maybe says, ‘Why should I give a s— about this?’ It’s my job as an actor to battle your apathy,” he continued. “I want to make you care about [my character’s] plight. Whatever is going on. This one was a challenge, because on the page Marcus isn’t the most likable guy, I hope that most of the people who see the film at least find a way to empathize for his situation.”

But because Indignation was a small indie movie, it did not achieve the word of mouth it needed to generate great success for Logan. It did critically well, receiving 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

One critic wrote, “Lerman’s stirring reading of Marcus turns out to be the prime calling card of Indignation: a detailed portrayal of a young man so intent when it comes to matters of the mind, yet unsure of everything else.”

Since Indignation was not seen widely, Logan Lerman still remains as the guy that rejected being in Percy Jackson 3, the movie franchise in which he met his ex-girlfriend Alexandra Daddario.

They dated for a brief moment in 2014 and still then were rarely caught going out together. When they broke up, there was no blow out in the press and they kept the matter very private.

However, there were moments in which Alexandra Daddario wrote some cryptic Twitter messages that pointed to the fact that she definitely prefers being single than having someone romantically taxing her. But of course, things have changed since then. She is now rumored to be dating baseball’s rising star, Ben Verlander.

“Being a Verlander definitely has its perks, including cat-like reflexes, thick heads of hair, and great taste in ladies,” reports CBS Detroit. “The sports gossip blogging website Terez Owens has reported that Ben Verlander is dating actress Alexandra Daddario, who is friends with Kate Upton”

While Logan Lerman has been touting himself as a serious actor, Alexandra has jumped head first into the commercial endeavors that had made her more and more famous. Her big break came with San Andreas, and this summer, she just wrapped filming Baywatch with names like Priyanka Chopra, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Zac Efron.

The latest casting news for the 30-year-old actress is that she is going to star in a thriller called We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

“Alexandra Daddario and Taissa Farmiga are joining Sebastian Stan in We Have Always Lived in the Castle, an adaptation of the 1962 story by Shirley Jackson,” reports Hollywood Reporter. “Michael Douglas is producing the creepy thriller with Jared Goldman, Robert Mitas and Robert Halmi Jr., while Stacie Passon is in the director’s seat.”
