Five Potential Opponents For Brock Lesnar At ‘WrestleMania 33’
Two out of Brock Lesnar’s last three WrestleMania matches have been extremely noteworthy, with his match against Dean Ambrose at this past year’s WrestleMania being the only underwhelming match of the three, and with Lesnar set to go one on one with Randy Orton this coming Sunday night, the question is, who’s next for “The Beast” at WrestleMania 33?
There have been a few slight teases and rumors about who Lesnar will end up facing in Orlando next year, and if you look at the Raw brand — which is the brand Lesnar is currently on — there aren’t a whole lot of options. So it’s possible that WWE will reach out to someone who is not currently with the company and offer them a match with Lesnar. It’s also possible that someone in NXT will be brought up to challenge Lesnar.
As of right now, there seem to be only five guys who could end up being “The Beast’s” opponent at WrestleMania 33, and all of the following names, with the possible exception of one, would create a lot of excitement if they were to step in the ring with Brock Lesnar next spring.
- Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has recently been moved down the card, as he’s set to face Rusev for the United States Championship at this Sunday’s SummerSlam, but he probably won’t be in that spot for long, because WWE is clearly planning on giving him another main event push in the near future.
Reigns and Lesnar have faced off once before, back at WrestleMania 31, but WWE was forced to change the finish of the match due to the negativity surrounding Reigns’ push at the time. But, it’s pretty well known that WWE does want to set up a rematch between the two at some point, where Reigns will actually pick up the win over Lesnar. Will it be at WrestleMania 33? There’s a good chance that it will be.
- Finn Balor

WWE has done a fabulous job with Finn Balor ever since the draft, and if they truly want to make him into the company’s next top star, then they should not only have him win the Universal Championship at SummerSlam, but they should also have him face, and defeat, Brock Lesnar in Orlando next year.
There has been a rumor going around that Lesnar will end up challenging for the Universal Championship at some point next year, so if Balor walks out of SummerSlam as the Universal Champ, then that could be a major hint that WWE is setting up “The Demon” vs. “The Beast” at WrestleMania 33.
- Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is currently the NXT Champion, but he may end up losing that Title at this Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn show, as he’s set to defend it against Shinsuke Nakamura. If Joe does lose the Title, then that could be a sign that he’s headed for the main roster.
Several WWE fans have said that Joe is the perfect opponent for Brock Lesnar, so it’s clearly a match that the fans want to see. But, will WWE give it to them? Well, that all depends on if Joe ends up on the same brand as Lesnar, and as of right now, the SmackDown brand could use Joe more than the Raw brand. But, you never know, maybe WWE will have Joe sign with the red brand once he’s done with NXT.
- The Rock

WWE has been wanting to do Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock ever since Lesnar returned to the company in the spring of 2012. In fact, they even had the match planned prior to WrestleMania 30, but The Rock ended up getting hurt during his match with John Cena, so the Brock vs. Rock match was nixed.
As previously mentioned, WrestleMania 33 is taking place in Florida, which is The Rock’s home state, so you can bet that “The Great One” will do everything he can to get on the show’s card. Over the past couple of years, outside projects and insurance issues have prevented The Rock from wrestling, but if he can work through those issues prior to next spring, we could see him in the ring with Brock Lesnar.
- Goldberg
I've got a special message for @Goldberg regarding #WWE2K17. @WWEgames @HeymanHustlehttps://t.co/SMuc295Fc3

In the video posted above, Brock Lesnar calls out Goldberg and tells him that he’s next. Of course, it’s a promotional video for the WWE 2K16 video game, which both men are a major part of. But, there is a rumor going around that WWE is planning a Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg face to face confrontation at this Sunday’s SummerSlam. Could that lead to a match at WrestleMania 33? Let’s hope so!
Lesnar and Goldberg have wrestled once previously, and that match ended up being one of the worst matches in WWE history, mostly because neither guy wanted to be there. But if they were to wrestle again, both men would have a different mindset, and they’d be able to have the kind of match that they should’ve had the first time around.
