Bella Thorne, Gregg Sulkin Split: What Went Wrong? [Report]
In a long list of young Hollywood couples who split this past summer, Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin have just confirmed their own breakup.
Bella Thorne, 18, and Gregg Sulkin, 24, have ended their relationship after one year of dating. The couple announced their shocking split on Monday, August 15. Both young stars announced that it was a mutual decision to go their separate ways, according to E! News. Thorne and Sulkin even released a joint statement to the outlet.
“After much though and soul-searching, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship. We will always love each other and have a deep respect for one another, as we have grown to be better people because of our time together.”
Fans were immediately concerned once they learned about the couple’s split. Thorne told her fans not to worry about her.

People was the first to report the news of their split. Last summer, Sulkin and Thorne made their red carpet appearance as a couple at the Teen Choice Awards. Sources told People that the two started out as friends and developed deeper feelings for one another.
“They have known each other for years and spend a lot time together. They treat each other with a great deal of respect and are really enjoying each other’s company.”
This past May, Thorne took to Instagram to commemorate their one-year anniversary with an awkward video of them kissing, according to another report via People.
“Give me a kiss right now. Come on, I really want one,” Thorne is heard saying in the clip below.
Then, she goes in for the kill by giving Sulkin a whole lot of tongue. Sulkin then sheepishly plants a kiss on her forehead.
What went wrong? Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin released another statement to Hollywood Life stating that their busy schedules got in the way.
“Our schedules made seeing each other difficult, and we decided that for now this would be the best,” the couple said in their statement.
It was just a few months ago when the young and in love couple traveled to Mexico City and shared a romantic photo from their trip.
Back in June, Bella Thorne took to Twitter to deny the split rumors after the news broke when Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris split. Then, in an interview with AOL.com, Thorne opened up about moving in with her then-boyfriend.
“My boyfriend and I just moved into a new house, so this is now our summer house. We have a backyard and there’s a lot of pool floaties — there’s big unicorns in the pool and it’s crazy. It’s actually really fun.”
The two were decorating their new home together, but Thorne said that she wears the pants in that relationship.
“We remodeled the house, the whole entire thing from head to toe. We worked really well together on everything, on the color scheme and it’s great because we have very different ideas. I am really good at the details and he’s really good at the mechanics of everything. I don’t know what those two walls look like knocked down, I have no idea. I just know what color looks good in this room.”
The Daily Mail was the first to report that Thorne and Sulkin were living together back in February of this year. A source revealed to the British tabloid that the couple are officially homeowners in the North Los Angeles suburb of Sherman Oaks. Thorne was seen getting candles and cable lights at the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge presented by LIFX that same month.
