Lisa Vanderpump Gives Life-Changing Advice To Tom And Katie Before ‘Pump Rules’ Wedding

Lisa Vanderpump is one of the only Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars who is still married after being on the show for years. While Kyle Richards has also been married to Mauricio Umansky for years, Lisa can proudly say that she’s been married for 34 years, which seems unreal in a city like Los Angeles. Of course, Vanderpump believes in the power of love and marriage, as she’s now officiating many marriages at her gay bar, PUMP, in Hollywood for many couples who cannot get married elsewhere. And now that Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney’s wedding is just around the corner, she has some valuable advice for them, as they finalize their plans for their big day.

According to a new Bravo report, Lisa Vanderpump may have learned something from watching Scheana Shay at her wedding to Mike Shay last year, as she now has some interesting advice for Tom and Katie. Essentially, Lisa wants them to focus on what they are really doing, not on the petty details and making sure that everything goes perfectly. It’s all about the love, the act of getting married and having fun with one another. Maybe this is the advice Lisa got herself on her big day.

“OK, so, the wedding is just around the corner. If I had to give any advice to a young couple getting married, I think it would be, you know, it’s such a pressure trying to organize all the kind of parts that are going to make up a wedding,” Lisa Vanderpump revealed about their upcoming wedding, adding, “But, I think, you’ve got to really remember the most important thing is why you’re doing this in the first place and that you’re doing it because you love each other and not to lose sight of that. Almost think of it like a big party celebrating your love and you’re wearing a long white dress, that’s it.”

Tom and Katie are getting married this summer, and it is possible that the nuptials will be filmed for Vanderpump Rules, just like Scheana did last year. However, just because they are filming it for Vanderpump Rules doesn’t mean that all of their co-stars are going to be present. In fact, some of their Vanderpump Rules co-stars are not invited to the wedding. And it sounds like Lisa Vanderpump doesn’t want to get involved with who is invited to the wedding.

Based on an interview with In Touch, Tom recently revealed that James Kennedy wouldn’t be invited to the wedding. It’s no secret that he has a hard time controlling himself when he’s been drinking. He was so outspoken and loud last season that Lisa Vanderpump suspended him from working at SUR after he spoke rudely to a manager there. And this is a chance that Tom and Katie have no interest in taking.

“James is too loud and a liability — I think even he would acknowledge that!” Schwartz revealed during the interview, according to EnStarz, with Katie adding about Lala Kent, “Absolutely not!”

There have been rumors that Kent is no longer on Vanderpump Rules, even though she really tried to fit in with the girls. No word on whether she still works at SUR, but it sounds like she has distanced herself from the show. Maybe something happened between Lala and Maloney, which is why she’s not getting an invitation to the event.

Lisa Vanderpump has been asked to participate in the nuptials as she can legally marry couples. No word on whether she would want to do that, so fans will have to tune in to find out.
