Is Selena Gomez really disappointed over the news that Justin Bieber is now dating socialite Sofia Richie?

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail revealed that Bieber’s fans were stunned to learn that Justin, 22, had been seeing Lionel Richie’s 17-year-old daughter, who is said to have been a family friend to the singer for more than five years. The twosome have a lot of history between one another, so their decision to date hasn’t shocked their family and friends.

One person who sits on the opposite end is Selena, Celeb Dirty Laundry claims. Selena Gomez had been hinting for weeks that a possible reconciliation between her and Justin was in the works, only to then find out that Justin had already moved on with Richie in a shocking turn of events.

“In fact, it was Selena Gomez herself who hinted that she and Justin Bieber might be hooking up again, as they have allegedly collaborated on a new project together,” the outlet reveals, referring to several songs that Gomez and Justin were expected to drop in the forthcoming weeks.

Several outlets claimed that Selena and Justin had a couple of tracks together, E! Online reveals. No word on when the duo recorded them, but from what sources gathered, there was a big chance that Selena would debut one of those songs as a teaser for what’s to expect from her next album.

Selena Gomez, who has already admitted to currently working on her next record, will most likely cancel her initial plans to release a Justin Bieber collaboration, now that she’s fully aware of Sofia Richie’s relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Celeb Dirty Laundry adds that it almost seems as if Justin is trying to play hard to get — is he purposely trying to make Gomez jealous?

The outlet concludes by saying that Sofia Richie’s age will be the reason why their romance won’t last. Bieber is still in love with Selena, and he has shown this through the photos he shared of Selena on his Instagram page a couple of months back. His intentions to date Sofia do not seem genuine, according to the webloid, who adds that Selena is Bieber’s one true love.

It is also believed that Sofia’s romance with Justin is just a publicity stunt for Richie to promote herself as an upcoming model, following the likes of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, who have all enjoyed enormous success through the people they’ve been romantically linked to in recent years, including Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and A$AP Rocky.

Could this potentially be the case with Justin and Sofia? After all, their decision to start dating one another seemingly came out of nowhere, leaving Justin’s fans rather stunned since there was no indication that Bieber even had feelings for Sofia. At least not in the way that he has shown for Selena Gomez.

The former Disney Channel star has yet to comment on the situation regarding the supposed track she was going to release with Justin Bieber, but fans seem to be under the impression that they are never going to hear it now that Sofia is dating Gomez’s ex-boyfriend.

The only way the track can potentially find its way on the internet is if Selena and Justin get back together, but Sofia is currently blocking that from happening.
