‘Outlander’ Stars Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe Offscreen Romance Rumors Confirmed?

Production for Season 3 of Outlander isn’t expected to begin until later this month and Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe might be dating in their off time.

Fans are well accustomed to rumors about an off-screen romance between the Outlander leads. Now, it sounds like the pair might be headed for real life romance.

According to Morning Ledger, Heughan hosted a Q&A session on social media and revealed that he couldn’t wait to act out the reunion scene between Jamie and Claire next season.

Is Heughan hinting about a possible romance?

While both actors have denied rumors of a relationship, Heughan added that Jamie and Claire’s time apart is a challenge for his character in Season 3.

“There’s a period of time where Jamie and Claire are apart; he thinks that he’s lost her, or at least that she’s alive and well but in the future, so what is he living for? What sort of man is he now?”

As far as Balfe is concerned, her favorite part of the coming season is watching Claire’s growth as a new mom.

For now, there hasn’t been any hard evidence that Heughan’s romance with Balfe has grown outside of the show.

However, that hasn’t stop fans from speculating about the on-screen couple’s future together.

Game N Guide is reporting that their romance is similar to that of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, and Jennifer Anniston and Justin Theroux, all of whom developed a relationship after working together.

In fact, an eyewitness previously revealed that Heughan and Balfe can’t get enough of each other when filming scenes for Outlander.

“Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear,” the insider shared. “She was laughing at whatever he said and well, they looked like an ordinary couple.”

That being said, MNR Daily reports that Heughan and Balfe are not secretly dating.

With the cast and crew getting ready for the start of production, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are keeping things strictly business.

Indeed, both Heughan and Balfe have quashed rumors of a secret romance in the past.

At the same time, Balfe is thought to be dating another man while Heughan is also linked to a mystery woman.

Of course, neither Heughan nor Balfe have officially commented on the latest round of rumors.

Is it possible that their onscreen romance has finally become a reality?

Until the actors address the rumors head on, fans will likely have to wait until the truth is uncovered.

Meanwhile, fans will see Heughan and Balfe together on the small screens when Outlander returns for Season 3.

According to MNR Daily, the new season is based on the third book by Diana Gabaldon, titled Voyager.

Fans can expect a completely different look and feel to the coming season as Claire travels back in time to reunite with Jamie, who avoided fate and survived the bloody battle of Culloden.

In addition to a twenty-year time jump, fans will watch Jamie and Claire travel the world and leave their native Scottish lands.

At the same time, the new season will introduce a number of exciting new characters, including Lord John Grey.

As fans of the books are well aware, Lord Grey is an important figure in the Outlander universe and even has a few spin-off novels to his name.

Casting for the new parts has officially started, so fans can expect to learn more about the characters in the coming weeks.

The new season of Outlander will premiere sometime in early 2017.
