Amanda Stanton’s love triangle was the center of attention on the latest episode of Bachelor in Paradise .
While Stanton went back and forth between Nick Viall and Josh Murray , the former Bachelor contestant now claims that her romance with Viall wasn’t what it seemed.
According to Us Magazine , fans criticized Stanton for going on a date with Murray right after she went out with Viall.
Murray was this week’s newest addition and didn’t waste any time getting with Stanton. In fact, the pair constantly displayed their affection for everyone else on the show to see, even Viall.
After the episode aired, Stanton admitted that she received plenty of fan hate online.
However, in her defense, Stanton revealed that her romance with Viall was not as good as the show portrayed.
Apparently, Stanton and Viall talked to each other before production for Bachelor in Paradise even started. While Stanton had a big crush on Viall, he didn’t share similar feelings and even told her that his eyes were set on Jen Saviano.
Given Viall’s mixed feelings, Stanton claims that their Bachelor in Paradisedate wasn’t all that romantic.
“Mine and Nick’s date didn’t go as well as it was portrayed on the show,” she explained. “It was a fine first date. We had a good conversation. We kissed. But there weren’t those ‘sparks’ like I was hoping for.”
According to The Hollywood Gossip , Stanton went on to claim that Viall was only interested in her whenever the cameras were on them.
“One thing that stood out to me was that he would hold my hand or kiss me … but as soon as the cameras were off, he would stop or let go of my hand,” she stated. “Now if someone is really into you, they’re going to show affection to you whether there are cameras on them or not. I TRULY felt like he wasn’t that into me.”
Viall also told Stanton that he wanted to date other women and was looking forward to Saviano joining the show.
Viall also told Stanton that he wanted to date other women and was looking forward to Saviano joining the show.
In addition to Saviano, Hollywood Life reports that Viall wanted to get with Leah Block.
He even told Stanton that he planned on dating Block and Saviano and made it clear that he was exploring all of his options.
With Viall clearly not wanting to pursue a relationship with Stanton, she felt like moving forward with someone else was in her best interest.
Fortunately, Murray arrived on set shortly after and the two really hit it off.
In fact, following the latest episode, Murray took to social media to express how he felt about his first date with Stanton.
“Aside from the unnecessary drama, my first date with @amandastantonnn was the best first date of my life, what an amazing woman!” he wrote.
Despite clearly hurting Viall, Stanton claims that she told Viall about her plans with Murray before she went out with him.
“Like I said before, Nick did nothing wrong!” she stated. “He really is an amazing guy and was nothing but honest with me! Can we just squash this?!”
That being said, Viall and Murray have a history together, which didn’t make the love triangle drama any better.
As far as Viall is concerned, Us Magazine is reporting that his former rival, Shawn Booth, doesn’t think Viall needs any advice on how to handle the situation.
“I don’t think I need to give him any advice. He knows what to do,” Booth shared. “I think this is his third show, so he’s got it all figured out.”
So far, it looks like Stanton made the right decision because her relationship with Murray is still on and they are even rumored to be one of this season’s couples that get engaged.
