Kristen Stewart & Alicia Cargile Disregard Robert Pattinson Rumors As Actress’ Movies Gain Momentum In 2016

Kristen Stewart made some big moves this summer. Not only did she premiere Cafe Society and Personal Assistant at Cannes Film Festival 2016, but she also appeared on the red carpet with her girlfriend, Alicia Cargile. Then, just a few weeks after, she declared her love for Alicia, showing the world that she is not afraid to expose her relationship with her girlfriend.

With her movies and personal life taking off, her ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, is slipping further and further back in her mind.

After all the promotional tours, festival attending and fashion events she had to host, Kristen Stewart is back home in Los Angeles, probably spending time with Alicia Cargile, unwinding before she has to appear at the New York Film Festival.

“The New York Film Festival announced its main slate of movies for this year’s event, a lineup of 25 film that includes the top prize winners from the Cannes and Berlin film festivals,” reports Entertainment Weekly. Two of her movies are set to be shown during the 2016 festival.

And it’s very likely that the 26-year-old actress will bring her girlfriend to the city.

“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn’t like it,” she told Elle UK.

“We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that,” she added. “But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”

Opening up her life meant that Kristen has not backed away from appearing in public with Alicia, instead of trying to avoid attention from media, they are embracing it.

They are also not hiding from the fact that their relationship is getting stronger and more intimate with time. For Father’s Day 2016, the actress brought her girlfriend to meet her father in Los Angeles.

“They’ve had an on-off relationship, but it’s clear that things are now serious between Kristen Stewart and Alicia Cargile,” reports the Daily Mail. “The 26-year-old actress was joined by her girlfriend on Sunday as she visited her dad John in Studio City, California for Father’s Day. It looked as though the family afternoon had gone well, as the happy couple wore big smiles as they left the house and headed off together.”

It’s possible the fact that they had a hiatus in the middle of their relationship is helping them. Kristen and Alicia started their relationship in 2015, but broke up for a couple of months. During that time, Cafe Society actress dated a French singer/actress SoKo.

But that relationship did not last. By Cannes 2016, Alicia and Kristen were back together on the red carpet, showing that they are more in love than ever.

A lot of things have changed ever since Kristen Stewart left Robert Pattinson, whom she has dated for three years. Since then, she has dated mostly women and did a lot of soul searching as well as trying to manage her anxiety and inner demons.

“I understand anxiety, I definitely understand not being able to find balance between mind and body and having to struggle with that, but I feel pretty good in my own skin, luckily. It took some time, but I feel pretty good,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.
