‘Wonder Woman’ Actress Gal Gadot Takes Heat For Her Political Views
There is still some time before Wonder Woman will hit theaters, but the DC Comics heroine is already a big hit, due to actress Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the superhero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That’s great news for Warner Bros., who owns the franchise in conjunction with DC Entertainment, but Gal isn’t exactly indulging in the fruits of her success. While fans adore the big screen treatment of Wonder Woman, they’re not so keen on Gal Gadot, the woman. Ms. Gadot has never been deceptive in her religious or political beliefs, but more fans are now paying attention and criticizing Gadot as a “Zionist” and for having served in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Wonder Woman Is A Hero To Millions, But Gal Gadot Is A Victim Of Cyberbullying
While Ms. Gadot was the highlight of Batman v Superman for many, leading to greater anticipation of the forthcoming Wonder Woman stand alone film, Fox News reveals that Gal isn’t nearly as beloved as her on-screen persona. DC fans all over the world are calling attention to Gadot’s political affiliations, labeling her a zionist on Twitter and suggesting that, for this reason alone, future Wonder Woman films should be boycotted.
“I see yall loving gal gadot but just friendly reminder to all that she’s a zionist,” tweeted Rosa Daddario.
The comments continued to flood Twitter, as the site’s users continued to post anti-Semitic remarks directed at the Wonder Woman actress.
The wonder woman trailer looks amazing but too bad gadot's a zionist and fought for the IDF :/

Gal Gadot has not yet responded to the negative tweets and she may not, but she’s not the first actress to receive so much hate for her Jewish ancestry or her political and religious views.
“I’ve gotten a lot of negative attention for visiting Israel,” Mayim Bialik of The Big Bang Theory said in 2015. “That’s what’s amazing…simply by going to Israel this summer and saying nothing more than, ‘I’ve gone to Israel,’ I got the same amount of hatred and threats and anti-Semitism for actually making a statement trying to support people whether I like it or not are serving in an army.”
Wonder Woman Actress Gal Gadot Says She Modeled Diana Prince After A Real Life Diana
Gal Gadot speaks of Diana Prince as a personality as great and heroic in her own way as the superhero Wonder Woman, so it seems to make sense that Gadot would infuse the character with the traits of a real life hero. The Daily Beast reveals that Ms. Gadot has modeled Diana Prince after the beloved Diana, Princess of Wales, because, as Gal said at SDCC, both women are equally heroic. In describing Wonder Woman, Gadot says she “has the strength of a goddess and the heart of a human.”
As Gal took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con this year, there was no hate for her, just love from the entire DC Entertainment fandom, and Ms. Gadot beamed with joy, as she took it all in. The experience gave her a small sampling of the admiration that both Princess Diana and Wonder Woman must have felt in their own rights, so she took the opportunity to explain to fans that she watched a documentary on Princess Diana, just prior to filming Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman.
“She said she leads from her heart and not from her head,” Gadot said. “And I think the same is true of our Diana.”
At one point, Jenkins, who was pulled in as the Wonder Woman director at the last minute, stepped up to add to Gadot’s sentiments by saying that the world is in need of love and forgiveness at the moment. Those are gifts the fictional Wonder Woman may be able to bestow on the real world, if her message is as inspirational as her appearance in Batman v Superman.
Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Connie Nielsen, will premiere on June 2, 2017, in theaters.
