Michael Moore Prediction: Donald Trump Will Win
Michael Moore has made his prediction: Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump will win the election come November, 2016, and be the next president of the United States. During his guest appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, Moore voiced his opinion with much regret and fatalism.
Going by his penchant for accurate predictions, Michael Moore declared in December, 2015, that the brash real estate tycoon would become the Republican nominee. He told Business Insider this.
After his prediction came to pass, the winner of two Oscars for his documentaries, Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling For Columbine, turned to the next election outcome. Michael Moore said in June, 2016, that Trump had an “excellent chance” of becoming the President of the United States.“Donald Trump is absolutely going to be the Republican candidate for president of the United States. It’s going from being a joke to being a serious reality.”
Then on the Bill Maher show, according to Fox News, Michael Moore showed a hardening of his stance on the matter. He declared the following, eliciting boos from the audience.
“I’m sorry to be the buzzkill here so early on, but I think Trump is gonna win.”
Michael doubled down on his argument by authoring a blog post entitled “Five reasons why Trump will win.” Insisting that “no amount of compelling Hillary TV ads, or outfacting him in the debates or Libertarians siphoning votes away from Trump is going to stop his mojo,” Moore fired off points supporting his prediction.
Michael’s first reason he calls “Midwest Math, or Welcome to Our Rust Belt Brexit.” Moore argues that Trump is going to focus much of his attention on the four blue states in the rustbelt of the upper Great Lakes – Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Factored in Moore’s calculation is Mitt Romney, who lost by 64 electoral votes in 2012. Since the sum total of electoral votes cast by Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin is 64, Trump can win by carrying the swath of red states from Idaho to Georgia. Add to that the four rust belt states, he doesn’t need Florida, Colorado, or Virginia to put him over the top come November.
“The Last Stand of the Angry White Man” second reason is vintage Michael Moore play on words. He touted up macho apprehension over the male-dominated, 240-year run of the USA coming to an end with a woman about to take over. Moore brings up the specter of “Feminazi” threatening the Endangered White Male as a factor in the way people will vote. The third reason for Michael is “The Hillary Problem.” Moore makes it a point to stress that he actually likes Hillary, who has been given “a bad rap she doesn’t deserve.” Though it was her vote for the Iraq War that made him promise never to vote for her again, and he asserts that “to date, I haven’t broken that promise,” he says he’s breaking the promise. Then he goes on to argue that the biggest problem isn’t Trump – it’s Hillary, that she is hugely unpopular with nearly 70 percent of all voters thinking of her as untrustworthy and dishonest.
His fourth reason, “The Depressed Sanders Vote,” stands out as another Michael Moore classic. While citing poll numbers that show more Sanders voters will vote for Hillary this year “than the number of Hillary primary voters in ’08 who then voted for Obama,” the left-wing political commentator suggests a reluctant turnout. He paints a picture of the average Bernie backer dragging him/herself to the polls to vote for Hillary in what’s called a “depressed vote,” meaning “the voter doesn’t bring five people to vote with her.”
Michael’s “The Jesse Ventura Effect” fifth reason pertains to “closet anarchists” who draw the curtain and are all alone in the voting booth. With this freedom to shake things up, fueled by anger toward a broken political system, millions are going to vote for Trump not because they agree with him, not because they like his bigotry or ego, but just because they can.

Previously positioned as a Bernie Sanders supporter, Moore confided that he would cast a Clinton vote versus Trump, according to the Independent.
With that said, the mercurial Michael Moore predicts a President Trump, and challenges everyone to say the words, “’cause you’ll be saying them for the next four years: ‘PRESIDENT TRUMP’.”
