Blake Lively Promotes Sexy Maternity Wear With Baby Bump On Instagram
Blake Lively is totally owning her baby bump! While she was more careful with her maternity wear the first time around with baby James, the Shallows star is now plunging into the deep end with all her daring fashion choices. Who knew that one could dress up the baby bump in such a sexy way?
Just because Blake Lively is getting bigger on top doesn’t mean that she has completely lost her old figure. Her legs are trim as ever, and the actress highlighted her toned calves and other things in her Instagram post.
The sweetness of the flower print with a flattering V-neck, which mirrors the thigh split, really brought out her ensemble, showing that she is a Californian through and through.
Her other maternity wear choices have absolutely been on point. Instead of shying away from prints, which most pregnant stars avoid out of fear that they will make them look bigger, Blake Lively embraced them to show that wearing the right kind of prints at the right lengths are very flattering for her.

A good example of Blake using the length of her dresses to enhance her look is most evident in this Instagram snap.
The shortness of the shirt, along with the fun pom pom details on the dress, made her baby bump look much more streamlined than wearing something that was floor length. Gotta give the 28-year-old mother kudos in choosing maternity pieces that are just perfect for her!
Just because she is expecting doesn’t mean that she has slowed down her career. Not only did she release two movies this summer, Cafe Society and The Shallows, she also hinted that she would be interested in a Gossip Girl reboot.
“I don’t know, it would be fun,” Blake said to Vanity Fair. “We had such a great time doing that that I think we all would really enjoy that.”
While the star of the show seems very much into the idea, not all her castmates are totally on board. For example, Penn Badgley, the actor who portrayed Dan Humphrey, has broken all ties to TV and film industry since Gossip Girl and has immersed himself in his indie band based in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
“‘Gossip Girl’ was a great opportunity, but it would be misleading to think that anyone on that show doesn’t have anything more to offer,” Penn told the New York Post. “We’re relying on the music to get us exposure, not whatever fumes I have left in the tank from the show. Let’s be real, I was never that famous anyway!”
He also hinted during the interview that much of the effort he invested in his music and band MXTHER is from a breakup. The fact that he dated Blake Lively for two years makes it a little more understandable that he feels hesitant to return to the show.
She is definitely in a much different place in her life, with a baby daughter, James, an adoring husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her growing baby bump. Being pregnant has not stopped her from getting on some best-dressed lists for the summer. And all without any help from stylists!
“While she no doubt gets dressed in glamorous designer threads for red carpets — like at Cannes, where she slayed in Disney-inspired gowns earlier this summer — it’s her own eye and unique touches that not only make her look aspirational, but add that personal touch and feel of fun to her Instagram outfit posts,” reports Brit + Co.
