‘Shark Tank’s’ Robert Herjavec And ‘DWTS’ Star Kym Johnson Wed
Two of ABC’s favorite celebrities, Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec and Dancing with the Stars’ Kym Johnson, were married yesterday in Los Angeles People Magazine reports. The wedding is the result of one of the best blind dates ever. Herjavec met Johnson when the two were paired up for the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars last year. As with every season, romance rumors spread quickly about some of the dancing/celebrity dancing couples, only this time, it was for real.
Robert and Kym didn’t make the cut of the semi-finals that season of DWTS, but they continued to date.
“I didn’t think it was possible, but it just kept getting better,” Johnson said.
“I’m just so happy to be going through life with Robert. He’s the most incredible person.” Herjavec returned the compliment with, “I enjoy every minute I spend with Kym. When I met her, I felt complete.”

Sunday was the first time that Herjavec and Johnson danced together as husband and wife. The wedding was attended by family and friends, including many from DWTS. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba and fellow dancers Mark Ballas and Derek Hough were in attendance along with Dancing alums Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Donny Osmond.
It was only four months earlier when Robert Herjavec proposed to Kym, who told ABC’s Good Morning America it ended up being “a little awkward.”
“It took me a long time. I didn’t let anybody know until a week before because I’m really bad at surprises and I was afraid I’d mess it up. But you know, when I asked Kym she started crying and she didn’t say anything, so I asked a second time and she kept on crying. And I asked a third time and she didn’t say anything, and I’m saying, ‘This is getting a little awkward.’ But she said ‘yes’ finally.”
“He’d been acting a little strange, I have to say, all week,” said Johnson. “The day that we did it, he had these flowers all set up in the house and we went up to the rooftop and there was a swan and the ring and fairy lights. It was very romantic, very sweet, and he got down on his knee and proposed. It was beautiful.”

As an added bonus, the couple also have the distinction of appearing in their first film together. The pair appeared in Syfy’s Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens which premiered last night as well on the network. They both play scientists in the film.
This is Robert Herjavec’s second marriage. Robert announced his split from Diane Plese, his wife of 25 years, just days before attending rehearsals for Dancing with the Stars.
“Human relationships are so difficult,” Herjavec told TMZ at the time. “I wish nothing but love and peace for our family as we move forward from this.”
He has two daughters and one son. Before his current run on Shark Tank, Herjavec appeared for the first six seasons on the similar Canadian show, Dragon’s Den.
Born in Australia, Kym Johnson performed on the first three seasons of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars before making the jump to the American version of the show in 2006. She also served as a judge for the Australian show from 2013.
Robert and Kym are not the only DWTS couples to get married. Last December, pro dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd announced their engagement as well.
