The Walking Dead Season 7 is inching closer, and fans are eager to find out what will happen after the brutal Season 6 finale cliffhanger. What viewers do know is that Negan killed a member of Rick’s group, but what they don’t know is the identity of the victim.
According to Yibada , Negan won’t stop his reign of terror in The Walking Dead premiere, in fact, it could continue well into Season 7. The site claims that Negan may take another life in the mid-season finale of the show this winter.
The show, which is said to have recently wrapped filming on the Season 7 mid-season finale, is known for transporting actors in a van on set. The van is said to be typically seen on set when a character death is about to take place. Fans are now speculating that Negan will kill yet another member of Rick’s group, and this time, it could be Spencer, played by actor Austin Nichols.
In the comic book series, Negan reportedly kills Spencer in a brutal way while in Alexandria, and this is a very real possibility to transfer to the TV show. In the newly released Walking Dead Season 7 trailer, Spencer is seen telling someone, presumably Rick, that the group “should’ve made a deal with them when we could’ve.”
In the past, The Walking Deadvillains have been fleeting. Until this point, The Governor was the longest running threat, but it seems that Negan will surpass that of the former Woodbury leader.
In the comic series, Negan is still alive and well, meaning that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will likely be around for quite awhile. Fans are delighted by this. Even though Negan is evil, he brings a big sense of danger and drama back into the AMC zombie series.
As speculation continues to grow about who Negan may have killed at the end of Season 6, it appears that most fans believe the character of Glenn Rhee was the unlucky victim. Actor Steven Yeun, who has been with the show since the beginning, hasn’t been seen on set much at all. In addition to Steven’s alleged absence, Glenn is the character killed by Negan in the comic book series, leaving fans with little hope that Glenn will survive into Season 7.
As viewers know, Negan’s first meeting with Rick’s group was to line them up and kill one of them as punishment for killing his men throughout Season 6. Negan then picks a member of the gang and proceeds to brutally kill them by bashing their head in with his weapon of choice, a bat wrapped in barbed wire which he has named Lucille.
Movie Pilotreveals that Negan’s reason for naminghis bat Lucille has been officially revealed in the origin comic series about the character. It seems that before the end of the world, Negan was a gym teacher and coach. His wife was suffering from cancer, and she was in the hospital dying when the virus hit. In the conclusion of the latest comic, it is revealed that Negan’s wife’s name was Lucille, which is what he later named his beloved weapon.
Meanwhile, as The Walking Dead fans wait for Season 7 to air, AMC has announced two new pre-season specials . The first will be a look at the upcoming season, with special behind-the-scenes looks at the cast and crew. The other will be a recap of the events leading up to Negan’s arrival and the big death scene.
Whatever happens during Season 7 of The Walking Dead , there is going to be a brand new feeling to the show as the power shifts from Rick and his group to Negan and The Saviors.
