Sia: Singer Covers Beautiful Beatles Tune For Kids’ Show
Sia, singer and writer of countless hits in her own right, has taken on a gorgeous Beatles song for a kids’ show which will hopefully teach young ones about the genius of the band.
The show, Beat Bugs, takes classic songs and has them redone by today’s most famous singers for the benefit of little ones. Sia appears on the show as a blackbird with a broken wing, meaning her song is, of course, “Blackbird.”
There’s a whole slew of celebs who are lending their voices to the show, including:
Pink – “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”
Robbie Williams – “Good Day Sunshine”
Eddie Vedder – “Magical Mystery Tour”
The Lumineers – “Honey Pie”
The Shins – “The Word”
James Corden – “I’m A Loser”
Sia is a busy lady these days; not only has she written hit songs for artists like Rihanna, she’s also contributed her own to projects like Finding Dory and Neon Demon, and soon she’ll be appearing in a new My Little Pony movie. That’s right, Sia will have her own likeness in Pony form; she’ll be Songbird Serenade, a white Pegasus with a black and blonde wig and matching tail.

Sia even has her own Snapchat filter now:

The My Little Pony movie hits theaters next October and also features the talented voice work of Uzo Aduba, Emily Blunt, Kristen Chenoweth, Taye Diggs, Michael Pena, and Liev Schreiber.
Sia is an Australian singer who usually hides her face behind outlandish wigs or headpieces onstage, because, as she explained to Ellen not long ago, she likes to have a semi-normal life when she’s not performing, and if everyone knew what she looked like that would be a problem.
“Well, it’s so that I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to, and/or if I’m in need of a restroom and I can’t find one, I could go by the side of the road and nobody would be following me with a camera trying to get ‘the shot,'” Sia said. “Once, as my friend was telling me they had cancer, someone came up and asked, in the middle of the conversation, if they could take a photograph with me. You get me?”
Indeed, one of the major drawbacks to being famous is the fact that you rarely have a moment of peace in public. Not only that, Sia has been the subject of some rather odd rumors lately involving Beyonce and a bizarre kidnapping plot.
According to the rumors, Beyonce is holding Sia hostage as some sort of songwriting slave, and Sia is using Twitter to post coded messages for help. It all seems to have started back in 2015, when Sia said in a Billboard interview that working with Beyonce was like going to “writing camp.”
Indeed, Sia has had a tough time with her fame, and in 2010 she began having suicidal thoughts. Drug use led her to a dark place, which made her career even more difficult. But these days, with millions of adoring fans and several hit songs under her belt, she’s found a good place. It helps that she has a bit more clout now and can dictate what she needs to be comfortable onstage, but for a long time she had trouble coming to terms with how the public treated her.
“It’s horrible. I just wanted to have a private life,” Sia said.
