Melania Trump’s Personal Website Disappears Amid Questions About The Validity Of Her Bio [Video]
In the aftermath of being accused of stealing a speech from Michelle Obama and telling lies about her education, Melania Trump has apparently taken down her personal website. MelaniaTrump.com was Melania Trump’s personal corner of the internet up until earlier this week. It hosted an array of products the prospective First Lady was hawking, from jewelry to beauty potions. Now, when visitors try to hit up the site, they’re redirected to Trump.com.
The move comes after some folks began to question the validity of the website’s claims pertaining to Melania Trump’s education. Namely, on MelaniaTrump.com, it was claimed that Mrs. Donald Trump had a college degree, reports USA Today.

On Melania Trump’s website, it was claimed that she had a degree in architecture from University of Slovenia. According to an unauthorized biography, the wife of the current Republican presidential nominee never graduated from college at all. In the wake of the scandal that erupted following the striking similarities between Melania Trump’s RNC speech and one given at the DNC by Michelle Obama back in 2008, it appears that the accusations of not telling the truth about her past were too much for Melania to bear. Amid a plethora of increasingly scandalous questions, her website (biography and all) vanished.
Check out the quote in question, taken from Melania Trump’s now-deleted personal website.
“Born on April 26, 1970 in Slovenia, Melania Knauss began her modeling career at the age of sixteen. At the age of eighteen, she signed with a modeling agency in Milan. After obtaining a degree in design and architecture at University in Slovenia, Melania was jetting between photo shoots in Paris and Milan, finally settling in New York in 1996.”
Donald Trump’s campaign has yet to comment on the gossip surrounding the disappearance of Melania Trump’s website, and probably for good reason. However, Melania has taken to social media to explain what has happened. According to Mrs. Trump, she had a very good reason for removing her website (which included her questionable biography), and her reason had nothing to do with high-profile questions about her background and personal history.

While Melania Trump has a perfectly reasonable excuse for completely removing (rather than revamping) her personal website from the World Wide Web, not everyone’s buying that the move has nothing to do with the questions raised about her education. Indeed, as the Washington Post reports, Melania Trump’s personal information had remained unchanged on her website since 2006. That fact has been confirmed by the use of Internet Archive.
The Post also reports that Snopes has gotten in on the questioning of Melania Trump’s personal biography. According to the site, Melania dropped out of college to head to Milan after only one year, when she headed to Italy to model. CBS News has further reported that its investigators haven’t been able to unearth a degree from the university in Melania’s name.
Not having a degree is different from lying about one. What do you think about the lie?

The good news is that she DID get a degree. The bad news is that it was from Trump University.

According to the unauthorized biography of Melania Trump, Donald Trump’s PR folks used a bit of puffery to embellish Melania’s resume, in an effort to make his model wife publicly appear to be “not just beautiful, but also smart and well-educated.”

While Melania Trump has used her social media account to assure the world that there’s nothing untoward about the disappearance of her official website, the timing of the deletion is a bit suspect. After all, the website was removed after serious speculation and allegations of plagiarism surrounding Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech.
So far, and despite public scrutiny, Melania Trump’s personal website, MelaniaTrump.com is still out of commission; entering the web address into your browser will land you on Donald Trump’s site instead. There has been no official word as to when the public can expect to see the site relaunched, presumably having been updated to indicate the changes in Melania Trump’s “business and professional interests” from last week to today.
