Johnny Depp Stalling Divorce From Amber Heard?
Amber Heard is still filing divorce from Johnny Depp following her domestic assault allegations against Depp. Only now it seems that Johnny is “stonewalling” the divorce proceedings by not providing certain financial documents, reports ET.
“[Depp] and his counsel’s demand for the execution of these two non-disclosure agreements which impose undue financial hardships and burdens on [Heard] are nothing but blatant threats by [Depp] and are illustrative of his continued attempts to thwart real progress in this case,” read the court documents.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s divorce first began on May 23, 2016, with Amber filing the documents and getting a temporary restraining order against Depp. They had been married for 15 months. The actress was also making a plea for $50,000 per month but that was later withdrawn following scrutinizing media attention. And it looks like Johnny might be attempting to stall by not providing information.
“In reality, it has been, and continues to be [Depp] who refuses to be forthright with his financial information and has stymied resolution of this case,” according to court documents. “[Depp] has been stonewalling the progress of this case, by refusing to provide the most basic financial documents.”
On July 15, Depp was requesting that their divorce proceedings be kept private, and that seems to be what this “stonewalling” is all about. Johnny wants Amber to sign non-disclosure agreements before he provides any financial information, Us Weekly reports. Depp’s lawyers want all documents involved in the divorce proceedings to be labeled as confidential.
“Johnny does not dispute that Amber is entitled to the majority of the information sought in her discovery requests and subpoena,” according to Johnny Depp’s legal team. “He is willing to produce the documents necessary… He has asked, however, that a confidentially agreement be executed prior to the production of documents in order to protect the parties’ privacy.”

But Amber Heard is refusing to sign any such agreement for confidentiality in the divorce case. Laura Wasser, Depp’s attorney, claims Heard and her counsel, Samantha Spector, have leaked specific information from previous settlement communications. It’s clear that the Alice Through the Looking Glass does not want Amber putting any more information out into the media, since the non disclosure agreement requires a $100,000 fine every time Depp’s financial information is leaked.
Heard says that this non disclosure agreement is completely unacceptable. “He [Depp] is now filing his second ex parte on the same discovery issue coupled with a second request to continue court-ordered deadlines related to the DVRO hearing,” according to the court documents.
Johnny Depp’s team claimed that Heard was refusing to sign any confidentiality agreements, so the actor was asking the court to issue a protective order. According to Amber’s legal team, she isn’t avoiding a deposition, and has in fact offered several possible dates to schedule a deposition. But the actress seems to be spending her weekdays in London, filming Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and flying down to Los Angeles on the weekends.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp apparently sat through a six-hour-long voluntary settlement conference, with a judge present, earlier this week on Monday. However, the two “did not reach a resolution of all matters.”

This news has surfaced in the midst of dating rumors between Amber Heard and Elon Musk, after the two were seen together in Miami.
Wasser denied the allegations of physical and emotional abuse on Johnny Depp’s part, even while text messages between Amber Heard and Johnny’s assistant seem to state otherwise. A computer forensic consultant, Kevin Cohen, was brought in to examine Amber’s iPhone backups to determine whether or not the texts had been doctored. His conclusion was that the texts were indeed real.
