Caroline Wozniacki Plagued By Injury But David Lee Helps Her Prepare For Olympics
Caroline Wozniacki has been fighting an uphill battle against herself to prepare for this year’s Olympics. Injuries have been cropping up one after another, and she also had to fight her ban for Olympics. But it looks like David Lee has been a steady source of support as Caroline trains to get her former glory back.
The Danish player found just the support she needed in her rumored boyfriend, David Lee, after her disastrous engagement to Rory McIlroy. Caroline and David have been spotted just before the end of last year and have been present in each other’s lives.

As an NBA player, David Lee understands just what it takes to become the best in one’s field. And Caroline Wozniacki was probably more than elated to spend her 26th birthday with him in the gym.
But the 26-year-old Danish player has not been feeling her best lately, with one injury after another forcing her to pull out of tournaments. Most recently, she pulled out of Citi Open during her match against Sam Stosur, when she felt something unusual in her arm.
“There was a point where I hit a backhand and I just felt it, and I was like, ‘Oh, it’s nothing,’ ” Caroline said to ESPN. “But then I hit another backhand and I was like, ‘OK, it’s something.’ And it just got worse.”
She is certainly feeling the frustration of having to compete when she is not feeling her best.
“At this point, I just can’t catch a break. I’m thinking, ‘I’m going to catch a break sooner or later.’ But right now, it’s just like one thing after the other,” she added. “I feel like I’m hitting it pretty well. I’m serving well. And it’s like, this happens. It’s just like really disappointing.”
Caroline Wozniacki has not been playing well for a while, injury or not. She has missed a lot of major tournaments, and when she did appear, she did not advance very far. She lost in the first round at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, which were not necessarily due to injuries.
But she did get the green light to compete in Rio Olympics after “overturning an International Tennis Federation (ITF) ban,” according to BBC. She was initially banned because she did not clock enough time playing Fed Cup games to qualify. However, she argued that her ankle injury kept her at bay, and the Danish Tennis Federation was willing to accept the overturning of the ban.

Some critics have been commenting on how she is using tennis to pursue her other interests and business opportunities.
“Over the past three months, Caroline Wozniacki has been less of a tennis professional and more of a social butterfly, filling her Twitter page with photographs of modelling assignments and red-carpet launches,” reports Telegraph.
She immediately fought back, saying that her priority still “is to become a better tennis player, be fit and stay fit,” and her injury has prevented her from competing on the court as much as she would like.
At least she has her rumored boyfriend, David Lee, by her side to keep up her optimism as she prepares for the Olympics.
Maybe she will be able to fix her “curiously unbalanced technique,” which could be the reason why she has been performing so unevenly throughout the years. While David can’t be of much help in getting her tennis technique on point again, he certainly has the power to keep her morale high as she gets ready for Rio.
Do you think David Lee will accompany Caroline Wozniacki to the Olympics? Do you think they will continue to make their relationship more and more public?
