USA Freedom Kids Who Performed For Trump Campaign Rally Now Suing Donald Trump

A trio of little girls known as the “USA Freedom Kids,” who performed for Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pensacola, Florida back in January, are now suing the Trump campaign, the Washington Post reports.

The little girls quickly became a viral sensation after performing at a Trump rally. Some found the trio to be enchantingly patriotic, while others mocked them relentlessly, likening their performance to others used to honor North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. Dressed in their star-spangled-banner best, the girls performed a resoundingly unapologetic pro-Trump song that dismissed all other candidates as being enemies of America.

Their performance at the Pensacola, Florida Trump rally can be seen in the video below.

The song was written by the father of the youngest of the USA Freedom Kids, Jeff Popick, who also manages the group. And now, the once-fervent Trump supporter is suing the Trump campaign, stating that Trump and his campaign broke multiple verbal agreements, stiffing the USA Freedom Kids out of any monetary compensation and actually costing them money for materials, travel, and lost promotional opportunities.

Popick reported that he spoke with various people within the Trump campaign, including former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, before the USA Freedom Girls performed at the Florida rally in Pensacola. The group originally asked for $2,500, but the Trump campaign countered with an offer of a table at the event, where they could pre-sell their albums. Popick agreed, but he stated that no table ever showed up. Furthermore, after the event, Popick states that no one would speak with him in an effort to rectify the situation. That, the Washington Post reported, was the “first of a series of broken promises and unreturned phone calls that went on all the way to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.”

But a Trump representative did finally reach out to Popick and asked if the USA Freedom Kids could perform again for an event Trump was holding for veterans in lieu of participating in the GOP debate. Popick was told that the exposure for the girls would be “huge,” but they would need to hurry since the event was scheduled to take place the next day.

Popick agreed, purchased flight tickets, and headed off with the USA Freedom Kids. But upon landing, he was told that the girls were not needed to perform. However, the Trump campaign stated they were welcome to the veterans event. The girls attended, dressed in their red, white and blue dresses, but Popick says they were forbidden by the Trump campaign from speaking to the media, which hurt their exposure.

“They just were constantly coming over, wanting pictures,” Popick said of the news media. “They wanted to take pictures, they wanted to ask questions — and I had to be a real jerk.”

The cost of the flights, rental car, and hotel were all absorbed by Popick, in addition to the promotional materials he had already purchased, as well as the time and effort of the three little girls. So now, Popick is suing the Trump campaign in order to recover expenses and other monies lost during his dealing with the campaign, although he will not specify the amount.

“This is not a billion-dollar lawsuit,” Popick said. “I’m doing this because I think they have to do the right thing. And if this means having to go through the court system to enforce them doing the right thing, then that’s what I have to do. I’m not looking to do battle with the Trump campaign, but I have to show my girls that this is the right thing.”

Popick seems personally insulted by the whole ordeal.

“These are guys that insist they’re straight shooters. ‘You may not like what we’re going to say, but we mean what we say and we say what we mean’– and they just would not say anything of any substance!”

“I’ve invested a lot of time, effort, money,” he continued, “and it’s just been complete silence.”

As a matter of fact, Popick has taken this personally. He was such an ardent Trump supporter that, even now, in light of how the Trump campaign has treated him, he may still vote for Trump.

“At this point, my position is that I have no position, really. What he’s done to my group or what he’s not done for my group doesn’t necessarily make him the best candidate, it doesn’t make him the worst candidate. I still have to mull that over. He might still be the best candidate as president of the United States — or not.”

Popick’s dealing with Trump and the non-payment for services rendered is just one more allegation in a string of similar allegations made against
Trump by small business owners who state that the Republican nominee has refused to meet the financial commitments made to them.
