WWE News: ‘Battleground’ Betting Odds Released—You Won’t Believe Who Is Favored In The Main Event

WWE Battleground airs live Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST on pay-per-view and on the WWE Network. Many betting sites include WWE events as an option to place wagers on, and as WrestleZone reported, the sportsbooks have released the odds for Battleground. The favored wrestler has a minus symbol before the figure, and the underdog has a plus symbol before their figure. For example, if a contestant is favored by -300 then that means the bettor would have to wager $300 to win $100. Or if a wrestler is an underdog by +400, then the bettor would wager $100 to win $400.

WWE Battleground features eight matches plus a kickoff match. The odds have been released for all of the contests except for the kickoff match (Breezango vs. The Usos) and the Sasha Banks tag team contest (her partner is a surprise).

At WWE Battleground, “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch seeks revenge when she takes on “The Queen of Harts” Natalya in singles competition. It was at Money in the Bank when the duo lost a tag team match to Charlotte and Dana Brooke. After the contest, Natalya attacked Lynch and the two have had a heated rivalry ever since. Right now the odds have Lynch favored by -600 and Natalya is the underdog at +400.

Rusev defends his United States title at Battleground when he squares off against Zack Ryder. Ryder has recently been given a push by the WWE, and his fans are excited to see him in a title match at a WWE pay-per-view. Ryder is the clear underdog, and the sportsbooks agree as Rusev sits at -900 (the highest of the card) and Ryder is at +500.

Another WWE superstar receiving a push is Darren Young. He takes on the Intercontinental Champion The Miz at Battleground, and it is for the title. Ever since Bob Backlund started mentoring Young, to “Make Darren Young Great Again,” Darren has found himself victorious in the ring. Time will tell if Young becomes the new champion, and he is favored by -210 while the champion is an underdog at +160.

In six-man tag team action, The New Day faces The Wyatt Family at WWE Battleground. For the past couple of years, The Wyatt Family has been presented as a threat, however, they lose the majority of their feuds. The WWE has been pushing The Wyatt Family ever since their return, and they have been building up this feud for the past few weeks. Recently the two teams rumbled at The Wyatt Family Compound.

Many predict that since this is not for Tag Team Championship, held by The New Day, that they will lose to The Wyatt family at Battleground and the sportsbooks agree. The New Day are the underdog by +280 and The Wyatt’s are favored by -400.

In a rivalry that dates back to NXT, Sami Zayn will square off against his former friend Kevin Owens at WWE Battleground. Both of these WWE superstars have seen their shares of victories and both are getting a decent push by the company. Both wrestlers have victories over the other since they came to the WWE main roster, and at Battleground, the rubber match will be decided. It’s hard to speculate on who will win this contest. The books have it a draw with both Zayn and Owens being favored at -120. Likely, these numbers will adjust once more wages are placed on this contest.

Enzo Amore, Big Cass, and John Cena will face The Club at Battleground in a highly anticipated six-man tag team contest. Ever since The Club formed in the WWE they have been a thorn in the side of John Cena, even causing Cena to lose to AJ Styles at WWE Money in the Bank. This is likely to be the last time, or at least a long time, that this version of The Club will be seen. As The Inquisitr reported, AJ Styles was recently drafted to Smackdown while Anderson and Gallows were drafted to Raw. John Cena’s team is favored by -530 and The Club stands as underdogs at +350.

In the main event at WWE Battleground, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be decided in a triple threat match. Champion Dean Ambrose defends his title against his former Shield partners, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Reigns lost the title to Rollins at Money in the Bank, and right after the match ended, Ambrose cashed in the MITB briefcase and became the new champion. Shortly thereafter, Reigns was suspended for violating the company’s wellness policy. Rumors have circulated that the WWE is not happy with Reigns, and that they are not going to push the superstar as much as they were before his suspension.

Ever since The Shield disbanded, Dean Ambrose’s popularity has skyrocketed while in singles competition. Ambrose has a persona and charisma that reminds many fans of Steve Austin and Roddy Piper from the days of yesteryear. The WWE may want Ambrose to drop the championship in order to build up his character even more, chasing the title for the next few months, until he regains it. But since the title has been changing hands somewhat frequently over the last year, and since Ambrose is a popular champion among the WWE universe, it may be best for the company if Ambrose continues his run as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The sportbooks agree with the latter as Ambrose is the decided favorite at -530, and both Reigns and Rollins sit as underdogs at +500.

Sunday’s WWE Battleground promises to be an exciting event, so exciting that fans may want to place their bets.
