Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals ‘Murder’s My Thing’
It might seem Gwyneth Paltrow is too busy for television, between her own acting career and her responsibilities in running her Goop blog and offering related health and beauty products, but the Mortdecai actress revealed that she does spend time relaxing with some good television.
Topping Paltrow’s list are murder mysteries with heavy emphasis on the mystery half of that genre. Gwyneth reveals her favorite new shows, those series that have her binge watching, when she’s not recommending vaginal steams or $75 wooden spoons to her female Goop followers.
Mortdecai Actress Gwyneth Paltrow Admits That She Does Love A Good Murder
There’s no denying that Ms. Paltrow marches to the beat of her own distinct drum. After all, her past Goop blog posts have recommended such eccentric practices as vaginal steaming, therapeutic bee-stinging, and sound bathing. In one area, however, she’s like many of us and that is in the way in which she chooses to exercise her brain. NY Mag shares Gwyneth’s thoughts on the ways in which her mind is recharged by following a highly suspenseful murder mystery. The Mortdecai actress revealed that she’s been obsessed with one murder after another…all fictional, of course.
“I love murder shows,” Paltrow confessed. “I finished The Night Manager. And then I just finished Marcella, which I binge-watched.”
It might seem that would have been more than enough to give Paltrow her murder fix, but not so. Gwyneth reveals that she has a new fascination. Like so many others, Gwyneth says she’s become enthralled by the new John Turturro led series, The Night Of.
“And now I’m watching The Night Of on HBO — have you seen this? — it’s another murder show,” says Paltrow. “It’s about this Pakistani kid in Queens, and he gets caught up in this murder, and it’s amazing. I love a murder show. Murder. Murder’s my thing. I don’t know why! It’s so creepy.”
Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Exes With Mario Batali
Gwyneth took a break from The Night Of to have a night of her own, reports People magazine. The evening was spent with friend Mario Batali at his New York City restaurant, La Sirena, where the duo hosted a Goop and Cadillac “Road to Table” dinner. During the event, Paltrow shared with guests that Mario had never failed to voice his opinions on Paltrow’s former loves. Gwyneth shared that Batali likes to tease her about the past love interests Paltrow had brought to another one of his restaurants, Babbo, over the years.
“He liked Brad Pitt, if you want to know. Didn’t like Ben Affleck that much,” she shared.
Interestingly, Paltrow didn’t share Batali’s opinion of her ex-husband, Chris Martin, nor was an opinion voiced on Gwyneth’s most recent love interest, Scream Queens co-creator Brad Falchuk. Things were pretty serious with Brad Pitt for nearly two and a half years with Paltrow and Pitt having been engaged, before their 1997 split.
Also in the late 90s, Gwyneth dated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck, after meeting at a party hosted by famed Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein. The relationship was short-lived, partly because Gwyneth’s parents shared Batali’s distaste for the actor.
“He’s super intelligent and really, really talented and he’s funny,” Ms. Paltrow said of Affleck. “But he wasn’t in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend.”
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have recently finalized their divorce, after an extended period of “conscious uncoupling” with the terms of their divorce and child custody having been settled amicably. Since the initial split, Paltrow and Martin have remained friendly and have shared vacations and weekends together for their children, Apple and Moses.
