Nicki Minaj Sides With Taylor Swift After Kim Kardashian Recording Reveal — Says Kanye West ‘Lost Cool Points’

It looks like Taylor Swift has finally added another ally in her refueled feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Celebrities have been picking sides ever since Kim went public with a recording of a phone call between Taylor and Kanye. The contents of the call proved that TSwift did, in fact, know all about the song “Famous” that Kanye was about to release and even gave her blessing to be in it.

In the wake of Taylorgate, it seems that another celeb has stepped up to side with Taylor Swift. Nicki Minaj is coming to Taylor’s defense, according to a Hollywood Life report. After Kim and Kanye exposed Taylor with a recording of the phone conversation that she claimed they never had, apparently Nicki is agreeing that calling her out like that just wasn’t cool.

“Nicki Minaj knows Taylor Swift very well after she had to put Taylor in her place when they were cat-fighting on Twitter,” reported a Hollywood Life source. “But in this incident with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Nicki’s got Taylor’s back. Thing is, it’s so not cool to record someone without their permission. That was a sucker move on Kim and Kanye’s part.”

Apparently, Nicki thinks that Kim and Kanye should have dropped the whole drama with Taylor Swift even though the recording shows that a conversation actually took place. Not to mention that TSwift lashed out pretty violently at Kanye West after the song was released and acted like she had no idea that there was a line about her in it.

Nicki Minaj isn’t the first entertainer to take sides in the war between Taylor Swift and Kanye West. After Kim Kardashian posted the phone recording on Snapchat, Demi Lovato, Zendaya, and Pharrell were busted for liking tweets that were posted in favor of Kimye.

Naturally, Khloe Kardashian is taking her sister’s side because it’s the first rule of being a Kardashian. Kendall Jenner also posted a pretty shady Instagram message and it’s a good guess that she’s out of Taylor’s squad now. Momager Kris Jenner lamented about Selena Gomez taking Taylor’s side even though they are best friends and it’s basically mandatory.

According to Hollywood Life, Drake made a comment about Kim’s Snapchat reveal making her “wifey” material. There was also a veiled comment made by a known Swift enemy, Camilla Belle.

As for team Taylor, so far, Selena Gomez spoke up for her best friend but got crushed in the Twitter party that was celebrating Swift’s demise. Chloe Grace Moretz also tried to go hard against the Kardashians and ended up getting a social media lashing from Khloe.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds both liked Taylor Swift’s statement in response to the Snapchat reveal where she accused Kim Kardashian and Kanye West of “character assassination.” The jury is still out on Justin Bieber, who posted a cryptic message about loving more and hating less. There’s no telling if Bieber was talking about the Taylorgate drama or something else entirely.

The reaction from Twitter was even more divided than the celebrities who have been taking sides. While some harshly defended Swift and even pointed out that Kanye never disclosed that he would call her “that b***h” as was pointed out in the Instagram post. On the other hand, it seemed that those who were celebrating the supposed downfall of Taylor were greater and the hashtag #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty began to trend for several hours.

Apparently, Nicki Minaj’s reasoning for Kanye West’s loss of cool points comes from her belief that he shouldn’t have shared the phone call at all. In some states, recording a phone call without permission isn’t even legal and some believe that Taylor may have a case to sue over the reveal. However, it was shared in the most recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that the recording was made in New York, a state where disclosure to both parties on a phone call isn’t required.
