‘Fixer Upper’ To Kick Off A New Season With Chip And Joanna Gaines
Filming of the fourth season of Fixer Upper has been underway, and it looks like fans are in store for a lot of original new ideas and designs from Chip and Joanna Gaines. They may even have some well-known guests appearing on their wildly popular series as well. According to Starcasm, the new season of Fixer Upper is expected to air sometime this fall, if not sooner.
PopSugar shared that for the new season of Fixer Upper, Joanna will be changing it up quite a bit. She plans to use bolder paint colors and wallpaper, designing unique spaces such as sitting nooks and playrooms, and will be using a new type of shiplap called skinnylap.
“Same idea as shiplap, but with thinner planks,” Joanna said, adding that fans of the show will see a lot of it during the new season renovations.
Viewers can expect to see more of Chip and Joanna’s four adorable children on Fixer Upper as well. Since the couple will be designing playrooms, bedrooms, and other spaces specifically for children on the new season of Fixer Upper, the Gaines turned to their own kids for inspiration and design ideas. Perhaps they’ll create another popular, kid-pleasing Lego wall similar to the one they did for a previous client’s son.
“I want these spaces to be kid-friendly, but also stylish and something their parents love, too,” Joanna wrote on her blog. “The kids have had some really great ideas! And having them involved is fun for me.”
Besides new design updates, there may be a few new faces appearing on Fixer Upper, and the most notable may be former First Lady Laura Bush. She has stopped by not just at a job site but has visited Magnolia Market at least once.
As in seasons past on Fixer Upper, the basic premise of the show remains focused on the clients. Each Fixer Upper episode features clients with interesting stories, and Chip and Joanna go to great lengths to find each one the “perfect” fixer-upper, mostly in and around the Waco, Texas, area.
“What’s unique about Fixer Upper is that, to me, it really is all about my client. Their style. Their budget. Their home,” Joanna stated. “The element of my job as a designer that is the most fun is getting to stretch myself creatively and really hone in on each family’s design style.”
Chip and Joanna’s biggest project to date has been getting Magnolia Market, along with its trademark silos and new bakery, up and running. Magnolia Market can easily draw up to 25,000 visitors, where they can spend hours shopping, playing yard games, or even grabbing a quick bite to eat from one of the many food trucks available onsite. Today Home shared that as for the bakery, Joanna hints on her blog that fans of Fixer Upper will get to see the much anticipated Magnolia Flour bakery come to life.
Fixer Upper viewers enjoy watching Chip and Joanna’s playful and humorous interactions while they’re renovating and designing their clients’ homes, and that’s one constant that won’t change. After all, Chip’s sense of humor is what first attracted Joanna to him.
“One thing I can definitely guarantee about Season 4, is there will be no lack of Chip’s stunts,” Joanna Gaines writes in her Magnolia Blog.
This dynamic duo has a lot of irons in the fire and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Besides filming Fixer Upper, they run a real estate company, developed a new furniture line, opened a bed and breakfast, got Magnolia Market up and running, and even have a new book that is coming out in the fall. The Magnolia Story will be available on October 18, 2016 and can be pre-ordered.
