Emma Watson Laughs Off Michael Jackson Drama With Boyfriend William Knight
Emma Watson has been enjoying her year off, spending time with her boyfriend, William Knight, as well as catching up on her summer reading. So when this new information that Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop, wanted to have her as a child bride came out, she probably only had to laugh it off before moving onto another one of her projects.
Emma and her boyfriend were recently caught spending some casual time together in London as they looked like they were on the move.
“They’ve been enjoying a low-key romance since last autumn,” reports the Daily Mail. “And Emma Watson, 26, and boyfriend William Knight’s relationship appears to still be going strong as the couple were recently spotted stepping out together in London. The pair looked relaxed as they walked side by side, with Emma dressed in an all-black ensemble.”
This came just days before the public got to hear about Michael Jackson’s secret dreams about having Emma Watson as a child bride.
“The superstar singer planned to marry his 12-year-old British goddaughter, and if — perish the thought — that didn’t work out, he also had his eye on the actress Emma Watson, then just 11 and at the beginning of her Harry Potter career,” reports the Daily Mail. “To those who felt that the Jackson saga couldn’t possibly get any more disturbing, his former doctor and confidant has come along to put us right.”
Because Michael Jackson passed away, this is just a little drama that the 26-year-old star can push aside before continuing to enjoy her time off from Hollywood.
When asked why she is taking time at the height of her career, Emma gave an answer that gained her a lot of respect.
“I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really,” Emma said according to Entertainment Weekly. “My own personal development is one. I know that you read a book a day. My own personal task is to read a book a week, and also to read a book a month as part of my book club. I’m doing a huge amount of reading and study just on my own.”
She has been keeping up with her resolutions, posting on Twitter about the books that interest her right now and updating her Goodreads website.

She announced the July and August book on the website, which is Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl by Carrie Brownstein. Her book club has a feminist tinge to it, which makes sense as she is the current ambassador for UN campaign for He For She.
Michael Jackson is not the only drama that hit her during her time off. She was also listed on Panama Papers for avoiding her taxes. According to CNN Money, Harry Potter star “set up an offshore company using Mossack Fonseca, the law firm at the center of the leak.”
Despite all this hoopla, Emma Watson had kept quiet to the press, prioritizing her sabbatical before she returns to the silver screen to make her mark as an actress. She has all those books to get through before her year is out!
Before going off on her year of freedom, the 26-year-old British actress completed a few projects that have been released or are due to soon. Her movie with Daniel Bruhl, The Colony, just got released for streaming and in box offices with meager returns. Her next heavily anticipated film is the live action take on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, where she stars as the iconic Belle.
But for now, Emma Watson is enjoying her time with her boyfriend, William Knight, and the new drama concerning late Michael Jackson.
