Adam Carolla Thinks Muslims ‘Aren’t Doing Enough’ To Police Extremists
Adam Carolla, the outspoken atheist libertarian comedian who frequently lashes out at both sides of the political spectrum, had liberals in his sights on Tuesday’s (July 19) podcast.
Hosting conservative actor and retired Marine R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket), the two discussed widespread extremism and terrorists from within the Islamic faith.
While there was quite a bit to offend to anyone holding an opposing viewpoint, it was what Adam Carolla himself said that is likely to have Democrats and moderate Muslims buzzing.
“The Muslim community has got to start doing a little policing here,” Carolla said. “They’ve got to start judging.”
Adam said that he understood extremists were “the group within the group,” but insisted that if moderates would start targeting the radical extremists who aren’t in the majority, “they could essentially clear their name.”
Carolla, who does not often agree with fellow comedian Bill Maher on things, said that he was in agreement with the assessment that “a large, alarmingly high percentage of those people [moderate Muslims] quietly agree with what is going on, and they are not outraged as Bill Maher brought up.”

Adam said he understood it was “not the majority, but a big enough number” were looking the other way or even silently cheering the extremists who were actually willing to die for their beliefs.
“The larger group looking the other way is the group that can implement change, and they are not doing it — not even in the homegrown stuff,” Carolla said.
In another portion of the podcast, Adam Carolla blamed the left for throwing around the words “bigot” and “racist” to describe people who did not agree with them ideologically.
“There has never been a better time to be actually racist because you can hide behind the people who are getting labeled as a racist, including myself,” Carolla said.
R. Lee Ermey, whose performance as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman won rave reviews in its authenticity, is a well-documented conservative, and agreed with much of what Adam Carolla said on the podcast.
He also said that as a “not very good Christian,” he would be “pissed off” if a group of radicals were killing others and using the religion as justification.
He also decried the Obama leadership as he has in the past and bemoaned that the best way to take out ISIS is to “kill them.”
Keeping the U.S. military from doing that, however, are “too many rules of engagement.”
“No matter how we do it [defeat ISIS], it’s going to piss people off,” Ermey said. “We have too many rules of engagement. A young PFC or Lance Corporal is afraid to fire his weapon.”
To that, Carolla said that “not only do we have too many rules of engagement, but they have no rules of engagement — nothing, their own lives, their women, their children.”
Ermey and Adam Carolla share beliefs that often ostracize them in their professions. On Monday’s podcast, Adam said that his views often hurt him.

The retired Marine said something similar to Fox News earlier this month when he declared that Hollywood had “blackballed” him for being a conservative.
“Do you realize I have not done a movie in five to six years? Why? Because I was totally blackballed by the… liberals in Hollywood,” Ermey said.
He continued.
“They can destroy you. They’re hateful people [who] don’t just not like you, they want to take away your livelihood… that’s why I live up in the desert on a dirt road… I don’t have to put up with their crap.”
Do you think that Ermey and Adam Carolla are correct in their assessment of Hollywood and Muslims? Sound off in the comments section.
