‘Sharknado 4’: Syfy Announces List Of Cast And Cameos, Official Poster Released
Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, the latest installment of Syfy Channels’ leading mock horror movie franchise Sharknado, will make its debut on Sunday, July 31, at 8:00 p.m. and as promised, the flick features a huge list of cast and cameo appearances, an odd tie-in with Star Wars, the revelation if April Wexler survived Sharknado 3, a possible “cow-nado,” and the official movie poster.
Since 2013, Thunder Levin has written four screenplays for the Sharknado franchise and Anthony C. Ferrante has directed all of them. Written “bad” on purpose, the films have become huge cult classic hits with each new film cramming in as many cameo roles as possible.
Sharknado 4 takes place five years after the film’s third installment (Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!) which debuted last summer. In the movie, the world has been sharknado-free since the incidents of the last film when suddenly, the sharks begin to fly again powered by tornadoes. However, this time they are showing up in unexpected places and in unusual ways.
Once again, it is up to Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) to save the world. He won’t fight the battle alone as David Hasselhoff and Ryan Newman will reprise their roles as well. As for if Tara Reid would be returning to the story after the last film’s cliffhanger, her fate has been revealed in the teaser trailer below. (Syfy had run a social media contest where fans could vote whether or not #AprilLives or #AprilDies after the showing of Sharknado 3).
As reported earlier, Sharknado 4 also stars:
- Gary Busey as Wilford Wexler, April’s father who just so happens to be a scientist at Astro-X who works in the area of robotics.
- Tommy Davidson as Aston Reynolds, who is the CEO of Astro-X who are in the process of preventing the formation of tornadoes with or without sharks.
- Cody Linley as Matt, Fin and April’s oldest son who went to flight school and then served in the Army and now is looking forward to reuniting with his folks. Maybe he shouldn’t have come home.
- Imani Hakim as Gabrielle, Matt’s best friend and army buddy.
- Masiela Lusha as Gemini, Fin’s cousin and shark fighter.
- Cheryl Tiegs as Raye, Fin’s mother and Gil Shepherd’s ex-wife.
- Gena Lee Nolin and Alexandra Paul of Baywatch fame playing Astro-X rocket scientists and astrophysicists.
