‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8: ‘Steroline’ In Danger Because Of New Woman In Town? [Spoilers]

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will premiere on The CW network in fall 2016. There have been a lot of spoilers and theories about Damon, Enzo, Bonnie, and even Elena Gilbert. However, what about Stefan and Caroline, known to fans as “Steroline?” According to a new report, the couple may have their relationship strained by a new woman in town.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a new character by the name of Sybil will appear in the Season 8 premiere of The Vampire Diaries. This isn’t someone who is human, but an immortal character. Based on the description of Sybil, there is speculation that she may be the mystery creature that affected Ian Somerhalder and Michael Malarkey’s characters, Damon and Enzo. It was reported by TVLine that Sybil uses her power and influence to manipulate and control others. The reason given was for Sybil’s own amusement.

If Sybil is the mystery creature, then she could be playing dual or even triple roles in The Vampire Diaries. According to a more recent report from TV Guide, a woman who wants Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) could come between “Steroline.” The website explains that this woman usually gets what she wants and sometimes uses questionable methods in order to get it.

Sybil, the creature in the Vault, and this mystery woman definitely sound like they could be the same person. However, if Sybil wants Stefan so badly, will she get what she wants? Well, that depends on what kinds of powers she has. Normally, Stefan could say no and walk away. However, what if Sybil has the power to control minds or make people forget about their loved ones? In that case, it is possible that Stefan could forget about Caroline and get together with this new immortal female character.

However, would “Steroline” survive something like this? Honestly, it really depends. Caroline Forbes has been hurt by Stefan. The pain happened recently, which means her wounds haven’t closed up just yet. Even though Stefan and Caroline got back together on the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, there is likely going to be some issues that make her hesitant to fully trust again. If Sybil ends up trying to get her claws on the younger Salvatore brother, will their relationship be able to handle it?

Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec answered questions regarding “Steroline.”

“You know, I always say that the saddest and truest rule of television is that there’s no drama in happy,” Plec said about Stefan and Caroline in TVD. “There’s also the exception to that rule, which is that sometimes happiness is as comforting as soup when you’re sick. I’d really like to see Caroline and Stefan enjoy some of that comfort for as long as we can eek it out, before they have to stumble across another obstacle.”

Is this what Julie Plec meant by another obstacle in The Vampire Diaries Season 8? At the time, it was assumed the executive producer was talking about Damon and Enzo’s predicament. It certainly is a stressful situation for everyone involved. Stefan, Caroline, Alaric, and Bonnie are going to work together to try to find Damon and Enzo. However, maybe this isn’t the only thing they will go through. Perhaps “Steroline” is going to endure than one situation that could pull them apart.
