Kim Kardashian West Gives Details On Caitlyn Jenner, Returns To Former Stylist Career

Watch out, Keeping Up with the Kardashians fans — Kim Kardashian West is getting back in the styling game. Although most of her adoring public know her as the reigning star of the most popular family in reality television, Kim Kardashian West started her entertainment career as a stylist and personal shopper to the stars. Kim Kardashian West re-visited her former career last week when she partially styled Caitlyn Jenner’s ESPY Awards look.

Recent rumors suggested that Caitlyn Jenner had been frozen out of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Caitlyn and Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch Kris Jenner were married for nearly 24 years. Their marriage ended in 2015 among later confirmed rumors that Caitlyn had been secretly transgender during their marriage. It’s not clear what prompted the reportedly frosty relationship between Caitlyn Jenner and her daughters, but things seem to have thawed recently, at least enough for Kim Kardashian West to help her stepparent get ready to walk the red carpet. Although, in true Kardashian-Jenner fashion, the reconnection came with a side of controversy.

According to Radar Online, Kim Kardashian made some fans raise their eyebrows thanks to a series of Snapchat posts. The Snapchat videos were taken while Kim Kardashian West was at Caitlyn Jenner’s home, supposedly helping her get ready for the ESPYs. But to some fans, Kim Kardashian West seemed to pay more attention to her high cut, cream one-piece swimsuit than to helping Caitlyn get dressed. In each of the five videos, Kim Kardashian West stood in front of a full-length mirror in Caitlyn Jenner’s closet. With her cell phone camera in hand, Kardashian West hit poses fit for a swimsuit model. Then again, it is easy to understand why Kim Kardashian West might be obsessed with her bathing suit body. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kardashian West recently revealed that she has lost 70 pounds since giving birth to her son, Saint West.

Was Kim Kardashian West more interested in her own post-baby body than in helping Caitlyn get ready?

People caught up with Kardashian West at the launch party for REVOLVEman X CLOT, which was sponsored by Moët & Chandon. Kardashian West was happy to give details on Caitlyn Jenner’s ESPY award style.

“She wanted advice on what to wear. She gave me three days and said, ‘Can you get me something?’ I looked online. I shopped all over.”

It seems that Kardashian West didn’t have as easy a time finding Caitlyn Jenner’s dress as she expected. Finding a dress long enough to fit Jenner’s tall frame was a particular challenge. In the end, Kim Kardashian West’s fashion skills weren’t enough to seal the deal. To make sure that Caitlyn looked perfect for her red carpet walk, Kim Kardashian West called Michael Costello, a former Project Runway contestant who has worked with the Kardashian-Jenner family, and Caitlyn in particular, before.

Costello and Jenner settled on a white knee-length, off-the-shoulder dress with long, flowing sleeves. Kim Kardashian West may have loved the gown that Costello designed for Jenner, but she wasn’t a fan of Caitlyn’s accessory choices that night. In particular, Kardashian West took issue with the strappy heeled sandals Jenner paired with her dress.

“She wanted to accessorize it super crazy. I had to step in. I didn’t approve the shoes. We’ve got to get Caitlyn some new shoes. It’s hard out there.”

As for the rumors that Caitlyn and her famous daughters are on the outs, Kim Kardashian West seemed to disregard them. Kardashian West said that she and Caitlyn have bonded over their shared love of fashion. So far, there is no word on whether Kim Kardashian West will become Caitlyn Jenner’s permanent stylist.
