‘Jurassic World 2’ Cancelled As Chris Pratt Walked Out?
After bringing a box-office phenomenon in 2015, it was pretty clear that Jurassic World will indeed be getting a sequel. The film is still at the filming stage, but from the recent reports, it looks like the film will either be delayed or be completely scrapped by the studio. The disappointing news came after the reports of an ongoing fight between the film’s lead stars, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, surfaced online.
After earning a whopping $1.6 billion, director Colin Trevorrow and Stephen Spielberg decided to make sequels. The news about the sequel came in July, 2015, but during a roundtable interview in November, 2015, with the Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures head Donna Langley talked about studio’s plan for creating a new franchise.
“There’s no reason why we should [have trouble]. Colin Trevorrow is busy working on an outline. He’s been working with Steven [Spielberg]. And they have an idea for the next two movies actually. It was designed as a trilogy, unbeknown to us. It’s a happy surprise.”
Now, it looks like the film has been delayed.
According to Movie News Guide, there is a possibility that the film’s lead stars Pratt and Howard are not going on very well, and do not wish to see each other. Well, the outlet further states that this apparent rumor was later debunked by the insiders, and suggested that everything is going great between the lead pair, and they are very well prepared to reprise their roles in the upcoming film.

According to an earlier report from the Wrap, both Pratt and Howard have signed on for at least one more sequel. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor even joked to Cinema Blend that Universal Pictures have more sequels planned, and when it was asked if he will reprise his role in upcoming sequels, he simply replied as follows.
“I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something.”
This being said, if the film is not get delayed or get canceled, what are the things viewers can expect from the sequel?
Jurassic World(2015) introduced hybrid Indominus-Rex who, in the end, was killed by T-Rex. In an interview with WIRED, the film’s director, Trevorrow, stated that as the sequel is being directed by The Impossible director J. A. Bayona, fans can expect a lot of interesting stuff in the film.
“I feel like the idea that this isn’t always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment. When you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and, later on, we found it could be used for energy.”
Few other speculations suggest that in the second part, new dinosaurs will be designed to fight the drug lords. According to MTV, back in 2007, a supposed script of Jurassic Park 4 or Jurassic World 2 surfaced online. The script followed the story of how the new breeds of dinosaurs will help the government agencies in fighting crimes.
Trevorrow stated during his interview with The Playlist that after Jurassic World, he has immersed himself in the world of Michael Crichton’s novels. The acclaimed director further stated that the upcoming films in the series are in good hands, as he has his full confidence in Bayona.
“We’re moving it into new territory. J.A. Bayona is an incredible director and I know he’ll push the boundaries of what a Jurassic movie is. I think it’s important that we take risks. A franchise must evolve or perish.”
On April 21, it was confirmed that the filming would take place at a U.K. studio, but as of now, there is no official release date for the film.
