‘The Vampire Diaries’: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev Reunion Leading To Divorce With Nikki Reed?

The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s reunion seems to have been causing trouble between him and his wife, Nikki Reed. Dobrev, who left after Season 6, is being brought back to save the show’s ratings. Her run as Elena Gilbert came to an end when she was shown going into a deep sleep enchantment to save Bonnie Bennett.

Celeb Dirty Laundry suggest that the reunion of Somerhalder and Dobrev has ignited the differences between the star and Reed who are already in conflict over their baby plans. Besides, it is believed that Somerhalder and Dobrev will be seen sharing romantic scenes again, and this might add some tension in Reed’s relationship with her husband.

According to the Daily Mail, Nikki Reed has also chosen to accompany her husband for the shooting of TVD Season 8. The duo was spotted together at LAX Airport taking a flight to Atlanta for the filming. Furthermore, it is reported by Parent Herald that Reed feels threatened by Somerhalder and Dobrev’s reunion.

Contrary to all the reports swirling about the marital problems between the couple, Hollywood Life recently reported that Somerhalder and Reed are very much happy together. It further adds that Reed is not bothered about the reunion of Elena and Damon for TVD.

“Nikki and Ian are so in love. There’s nothing he could possibly do to upset her. The idea of Ian and Nina reuniting on screen for The Vampire Diaries doesn’t bother her one bit. She has no issues with this whatsoever.”

However, the news of the duo’s return has raised the excitement level among the fans of The Vampire Diaries. Regarding the actress’ return to the series, executive producer Julie Plec told TVLine that when Dobrev left the show, she made it clear that she will be focusing on her endeavors, however, the CW is indeed going to try to bring her back to the show even just for one episode.

“It’s what she and I kind of agreed on when she decided to move on, and it’s what I’ve got in my head… She was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she’s doing a great job of achieving that. So I’m sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end.”

Somerhalder had confirmed in the past that Season 8 will be his last in the supernatural series. He is not known to have picked up any other TV or movie projects. In addition, reports have hinted that Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries would be the final season as well. However, nothing has been officially confirmed by the CW or by Plec.

Hollywood Life also adds that insiders have revealed that Somerhalder and Dobrev owe it to the show. It was the series that has elevated their careers, and they should come back to make for a good farewell.

“The show did so much for [Ian and Nina’s] careers and put them on the map. For Julie Plec and the other writers and creators, they feel like they owe it to them to suck it up and send the show off any way they want to send it off.”

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder had parted ways in 2013 after dating each other for almost three years. Later, the actor tied the knot with actress Nikki Reed in April 2015. Dobrev is not known to be dating anyone currently. Fans of TVD can only wait to see if the CW will be able to bring their favorite couple back to the show.
