Is ‘Southern Charm’s’ Kathryn Dennis Seeking Rehab In Malibu?

A story has broken that hints at what many Southern Charm fans have suspected, that Kathryn Calhoun Dennis is in a rehab program in Southern California. Just before the Southern Charm reunion, information surfaced that Kathryn had failed a court-mandated drug test, and as a result, Kathryn likely realized that any custody situation could only be improved by seeking help. Sadly, rather than encourage Kathryn to seek help, much of the Southern Charm cast, led by Landon Clements, used the drug test information to taunt Kathryn Dennis at the Southern Charm reunion.

According to the Inquisitr, both Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel of Southern Charm were suspected of drug use, and drug tests were requested for both parents in their custody dealings. Kathryn Dennis was said to have given the court hair from her head and body, while Thomas Ravenel reportedly shaved his whole body as not to submit anything beyond his head hair. Regardless, there are now safeguards in place to make sure there is no drug or alcohol abuse around the two children of Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel.

FitsNews is reporting that Kathryn Dennis, the breakout star of Southern Charm, is in a Malibu rehab facility, seeking help for her drug issues. Kathryn Dennis, the mother of Kensington Calhoun Ravenel, and St. Julien Rembert Ravenel, willingly checked herself into the Southern California rehab center after failing a drug test. The drugs in question were said to be marijuana, cocaine, and allegedly opiates.

FitsNews also broke the story of the failed drug test, and representatives for Kathryn Dennis allegedly threatened the news source with a lawsuit if they did not retract the story. There was no retraction, and there has been no lawsuit in the case of the Southern Charm star.

“According to our sources, Dennis voluntarily checked herself into a Malibu, California-based drug rehabilitation center earlier this month to seek unspecified treatment.”

Kathryn Dennis has posted photos of herself on her Instagram account, looking fresh-faced and happy in the California sun, with captions like #unfiltered. Sources close to Kathryn Dennis believe that this is the right move for the future of Kathryn Dennis and her children, and can only help her regain unsupervised custody of the kids.

“This is a step in the right direction for her for her health as well as for custody of her children.”

FitsNews says that they have reached out to Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel for a comment about the rehab story, but there has been no comment, which is not a shock, because both Dennis and Ravenel are now under a gag order by the court. Kathryn Dennis is not the only one of the children’s parents who has struggled with drug issues. Thomas Ravenel was discovered to be using and distributing cocaine just six months after being appointed treasurer of the state of South Carolina. Ravenel did time in a federal prison, and has not been able to find his place back in politics since.

People Magazine reported that the last Southern Charm fans saw of Kathryn Dennis, she was exposing Landon Clements on the Southern Charm reunion for sneaking around with Thomas Ravenel, especially for staying in a hotel with Ravenel on a romantic getaway that was planned for Kathryn. Kathryn Dennis explained when she told Thomas Ravenel that she did not want to sleep in the same bed with him, he offered the trip to Landon instead.

Kathryn and Landon had a terrible relationship over Season 3 of Southern Charm, with Landon seeming to envy the attention that Kathryn got from the men Landon was pursuing (Thomas Ravenel and Shep Rose). During the Southern Charm reunion, it was Landon who urged Thomas Ravenel to share private court papers with Andy Cohen on live television.
