Drake still has fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of his “One Dance” music video, but it looks like he is already gearing up for another new music video release. Reports surfaced on Wednesday suggesting that the rapper is in the process of shooting a music video for his track, “Child’s Play.”
It’s been three months since Drake surprised fans with the release of his chart-topping single, “One Dance,” and despite months of speculation regarding a tentative release date for the track’s music video, there’s currently no official word on when Drake is planning to drop the highly anticipated project. However, with new reports having surfaced on Wednesday suggesting that Drake will be in Houston on July 13 to film a video for his Views track, “Child’s Play,” it looks like we may be getting the “One Dance” music video in the near future.
Rumors of an impending video for “Child’s Play” began late Tuesday evening after Toronto hip-hop source, The6Track , took to Twitter to share a message and video regarding Drake’s plans to reportedly film “Child’s Play” on July 13 inside of Houston-based strip club, V Live.

While Drake has yet to comment on the impending “Child’s Play” music video rumors, the rapper seemingly hinted at an upcoming project for the track on Sunday after he took to Instagram to share a photo of himself donning a long sleeve shirt with lyrics from “Child’s Play” emblazoned on the back.
In the photo, Drake can be seen turning his back toward the camera in order to show off the writing on the back of his shirt which reads, “don’t make me give you back to the hood…,” alongside the simple caption, “Summer Sixteen Tour.”
The news comes just two weeks after several photos from Drake’s reported “One Dance” music video set made their way onto Instagram, seemingly confirming South Africa as the location for Drake’s highly anticipated video.
According to Billboard , sound engineer and percussionist @matikamusic took to the social media site on June 29 to share a photo of Drake on set for “One Dance” with the message, “Meanwhile in Soweto for the One Dance video shoot,” alongside one hashtag that calls the project a “#workinprogress.”
Similarly, several fans took to Instagram to share their photos with the “Pop Style” rapper while on break from the “One Dance” video shoot with the hashtags “#WeFoundDrake,” “#DrakeInSA,” and “#OneDanceVideo.”
While there’s currently little information available about the video, Billboard further suggests that Apple Music’s head of content, Larry Jackson, was also spotted on the set of “One Dance” alongside Jamaican dancehall singer, Popcaan.
Just one week prior, Drake was spotted in La Romana in the Dominican Republic alongside rapper French Montana and producer Noah “40” Shebib to reportedly film a music video for Montana’s forthcoming single , “No Shopping,” which will appear on the rapper’s highly anticipated MC4 album that’s set for release on August 19, The Fader reports.
French Montana gave fans a brief preview of his “No Shopping” track via a ten-second video clip back in May in which Drake can be heard repeating the phrase “pump it up,” further fueling speculation that the song may serve as a diss track aimed at “Pump It Up” artist Joe Budden, Rap-Up reports.
