Kylie Jenner And Tyga At It Again! Are They Engaged, Married, Or Neither?
Kylie Jenner is at it again. The 18-year-old entrepreneur and gossip column mainstay had fans raising their eyebrows over her marital status on Saturday, July 9. Ever since Kylie Jenner and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, 26-year-old rapper Tyga, set their relationship status to reunited, rumors have swirled that wedding bells are in the 18-year-old’s future. The most recent confusion is thanks to a mysteriously disappearing Instagram caption and Snapchat post.
According to Hollywood Life, Kylie shared two Snapchat posts in which she flashed a diamond ring on her wedding ring finger. Kylie later posted a photograph of herself and Tyga to Instagram with the caption “Mr. And Mrs.” attached. Kylie’s social media antics had fans convinced that she and Tyga were not only engaged but that they may have already married in secret.
Longtime fans of Kylie Jenner have wondered for years whether she and Tyga will be joined in matrimony. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, both Kylie and Tyga have a long history of referring to one another as fiancés or husband and wife. In one memorable episode of I Am Cait, Kylie shocked viewers when she mentioned the similarities between herself and her great-grandmother, who married at 17-years-old. Kylie’s father, former Olympian and reality television star Caitlyn Jenner, laughed off her daughter’s comment, but fans wondered if there was any truth to the statement.
To make matters worse, less than a month after their recent reunion, Kylie Jenner made a Snapchat post in which she claimed that a set of false nails decorated with an Egyptian seem reminded her of her “husband.” Presumably, Kylie was referring to Tyga, who has a well-known fascination and affinity for Egypt and Egyptian themes. Are Kylie and Tyga ready to tie the knot?
It doesn’t look like it. According to E! News, two unidentified sources confirmed that Kylie Jenner and Tyga are neither engaged nor married. However, according to the sources, the recently reunited couple have discussed marriage. That doesn’t mean that Kylie’s new bling doesn’t have a special meaning or significance in her relationship with Tyga. Sources claim that Kylie’s shiny new ring is, in fact, a promise ring. Reportedly, the ring is Tyga’s way of promising Kylie that he will reform and avoid any more allegations of cheating on his young love. Tyga reportedly purchased the ring for Kylie from Polacheck’s Jewelers, an upscale establishment in Calabasas, California.
Kylie is reportedly over the moon about her new bling and her reformed man, but her sisters are less than thrilled. The Kardashian-Jenner clan is notoriously supportive of each other, but that support reportedly stops short at Kylie’s relationship with Tyga. Sources claim that Kylie Jenner’s older sisters have been trying to break her and Tyga up practically since they got together. Khloe Kardashian even went so far as to try to prevent Tyga from attending her 32nd birthday party in late June 2016. Among the laundry list of issues that the Kardashian-Jenner clan have for disliking Tyga, the source cited two: his poor treatment of Kylie and his fear of commitment.
If her entire family is against their relationship, why does Kylie let Tyga keep crawling back? The answer is most likely stability. Tyga has known the Kardashian-Jenner family for years, and he and Kylie have reportedly been sweethearts for just as long. Kylie Jenner does not have a very storied romantic history. According to People, Kylie posted a video to her website and app in which she explained her romantic track record.
“I was dating someone for like, three years, [age] 14, 15, 16, and then like a little bit of 17. I went into another relationship, 17, 18. Now I just like-I feel like I really need to find myself this year and have a relationship with myself.”
If Kylie’s statement was true, it suggests that she keeps going back to Tyga because being with him is more familiar than being by herself. Which begs the question: will familiarity be enough to convince Kylie to marry Tyga?
