Harry Styles ‘Dunkirk’ Secrets: Other Actors Not Sharing, But 1D Fans Are
Harry Styles has been fairly shy about using social media to talk about Dunkirk, and there are many One Direction fans trying to figure out what is happening in his new career as an actor.
Thankfully, other members of the Dunkirk team have bits of interesting information about what Harry Styles’ world is like at the moment… if you just know where to look. Despite this, One Direction fans are some of the biggest contributors of photos of Harry Styles and Dunkirk on social media so far.
Harry Styles has been the centerpiece of many news headlines about Dunkirk since they started filming around the end of May, and Mirror stated on June 21 that Harry signed autographs for fans during filming.
When looking for insider details about Harry Styles and Dunkirk, their original press release and IMDb page for the 2017 Dunkirk movie are good places to start because they list all of the crew and cast members names.
However, cross-listing actors associated with Harry Styles and Dunkirk with their social media accounts does not necessarily produce the results One Direction fans might be looking for.
For example, the main person in charge of creating Dunkirk will not be giving any clues for outside observers. As it appears, Christopher Nolan is asleep at the wheel of social media, and that is well-known fact.
According to Daily Mail, Christopher Nolan has made movies like the technology-centric film Interstellar, but prefers a Dunkirk-era lifestyle of no social media or mobile phones.
Adding to this, main characters for Dunkirk besides Harry Styles, such as Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, and James D’Arcy, do not have updated social media accounts.
Adam Long, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan and Tom Glynn-Carney do have social media accounts that are active, but they do not always focus on Dunkirk photos or updates in their posts.
On the other hand, Cillian Murphy is one of the main characters of Dunkirk and his unofficial fan-run Instagram account is loaded with snaps from the set. Unfortunately for One Direction fans, none of Cillian Murphy’s photos are of Harry Styles.
Regardless, there are still plenty of Harry Styles photos from the set of Dunkirk, and most of them are taken by One Direction fans. Others are gleaned by Harry Styles fans from the internet.
In addition to an official Dunkirk Movie social media account, there are several fan accounts most likely made by Harry Styles fans that give insight to the behind-the-scenes drama of making the film.
A good example is Styles Movie News on Twitter. While photos are the focus, there are also rumors posted on the Twitter account that note where the cast is filming on-location next and if Harry Styles will be there.
Of course, this information about on-location sets for filming Dunkirk can be helpful for fans that love Harry Styles and other members of One Direction. For example, J-14 writes that fans speculate from a photo that Louis Tomlinson was on the set of Dunkirk to see Harry around July 7.
There was also an opportunity for One Direction fans to be cast as extras for Dunkirk. UnReality TV explained that One Direction fans speculated a movie extras casting call in Weymouth, U.K., was actually for Dunkirk. Around June 27, it was rumored that hundreds of 1D fans swarmed the tryouts hoping to be picked.
One other nice thing for fans is that they may not have to travel because the scenes might be being filmed in several locations besides Urk, Holland. While Weymouth was speculated as a location for Dunkirk, Dorset, U.K., is another.
Other social media for Dunkirk and/or Harry Styles where clues could potentially be dropped are social media accounts like Movie Dunkirk and the #Dunkirk hashtag on Instagram.
Along with a focus on Harry Styles, there are other interesting fan accounts based on other actors in Dunkirk. For example, actors Aneurin Barnard and Fionn Whitehead are the primary focus of a Dunkirk fan account on Twitter.
While many of the cast or crew members are not on social media, it does not mean that they are not celebrities. For example, on June 30, actor Mark Rylance was called “Steven Spielberg’s go-to guy” by Collider.
Kenneth Branagh got a special focus from Daily Mail that wanted to show off how hot he looked in a World War II soldier’s uniform on the set of Dunkirk.
While fan updates on social media may not always be accurate, recent social media posts show that Harry Styles is still involved with Dunkirk to some capacity… at least where style is concerned. For example, on July 5, Harry Styles was defined by Refinery 29 as having a Dunkirk makeover thanks to his sister, Gemma Styles, posting a picture of her brother on Snapchat.
