Simon Cowell Unveils New Headphones
Just when you thought Simon Cowell couldn’t possibly get any more powerful and wealthy, the music mogul has decided to start a brand of headphones. The headphones, appropriately titled X Headphones is a venture by Cowell owned Syco Entertainment and Sony Corp.’s Sony Music Entertainment.
The pricey gift plans to be distributed at $299, which promises to combine a crisp audio performance with a sleek look. If the headphones look a bit familiar in their design, it’s because Cowell’s headphones are set to rival Dr. Dre’s Beats headphones, which have been so successful in the industry that a whole line of Beats has been distributed. According to Bloomberg news, the Beats product has earned thirty percent market share of the premium headphone market over the last 6 years.
Of course the announcement of Simon Cowell’s X Headphones comes in a very timely matter. The second season of the US “X Factor” premieres September 12, and is said to kick off the new headphones by featuring them on the television show.
About the creation of the headphones, Cowell said, “I simply wanted something better than what is in the market today.” Cowell continued in a statement about the new future of his X Headphones,” I’ve tried all of them, literally every single one. Sony and I set out to create the best headphone in the world. We are absolutely blown away by these. With the X headphones, it’s like being in the recording studio when the records are made. The sound is that clear.”
If Cowell’s word isn’t enough, the partners have stepped up in affirming the revolutionary headphones, stating the headphones will combine, “Simon Cowell’s expertise seeking perfection in music with Sony’s legendary audio engineering. The new X Headphones offer music lovers the truest sound reproduction along with the utmost in style and quality.”
Sony Electronics’ VP of the personal audio division, Andrew Sivori went on to say about the importance of combining sound with design of the headphones, “The new X Headphones offer music lovers the truest sound reproduction along with the utmost in style and quality.”
