It certainly looks like JoJo Fletcher and ABC want you to have a great Fourth of July, and that little tweet makes it seem like they want you to have it with them. Well, that’s not going to happen due to the fact that on this Monday night, there will be no new episode of The Bachelorette.
The International Business Times confirmed that there would be a short hiatus for the holiday week, and The Bachelorette would return to the air next Monday, July 11. This is actually exactly what happened last year with the same holiday, and the show took a week off then as well.
Good news I was just informed we won’t air an original #TheBachelorette episode on the 4th. So go enjoy your holiday!!!

With this break, it is making fans wonder how they are going to fit the remaining episodes in since Season 3 of Bachelor In Paradise is set to premiere on August 2. Well, that’s now been figured out, and BIP is not moving — ABC still has it set in stone to begin on August 2 — but The Bachelorette schedule is going to be altered a little.
Episode 7 of The Bachelorette is going to air on Monday, July 11, and it’s the episode that was originally scheduled to air tonight. This is going to be a big one and a “must-watch,” as it’s when JoJo will whittle her list of remaining guys down to just four. They will go on the hometown dates with her the following week.
This will be the goodbye to James Taylor, and the internet will be sad.
That means the hometown dates in Episode 8 have been moved to July 18, and that is where JoJo will have serious dates with Luke Pell, Jordan Rodgers, Robby Hayes, and Chase McNary. One of those guys will be sent home, though, and as Reality Steve corrected his original spoilers from months ago, it’s Luke who is eliminated and not Chase. Here is where some thought that episodes 7 and 8 would air on consecutive days next week, but that won’t be happening again.
On July 25, Episode 9 is set to air, and it is going to be the Fantasy Suite dates where JoJo spends the night with each of the remaining three guys. This could be an extremely interesting episode and one that causes some controversy.
While it hasn’t yet been officially announced, it is expected that the “Men Tell All” special will air on the evening of Sunday, July 31. That will be the night before the season finale which is set for August 1, and it will see JoJo ultimately select her true love.
So, to recap:
- July 4, 2016: No new episodes of The Bachelorette
- July 11, 2016: Episode 7 – From six to four guys
- July 18, 2016: Episode 8 – The hometown dates
- July 25, 2016: Episode 9 – The overnight fantasy suite dates
- TBD: Episode 10 – The “Men Tell All” special
- August 1, 2016: Season Finale
Remember, ABC does like to change things up from time to time, so this is subject to change.
Some had thought that maybe there would be a double-up on week and two episodes would air on back-to-back nights. That happened a few weeks ago with the NBA Finals, but it now seems more likely that the “Men Tell All” special will simply happen closer to the season finale.
On this Fourth of July, you may want to head out and do some firework-shooting/watching or maybe head to a friend’s house for some fun. No matter what, you’re going to have to find something different to watch on TV if you’re a fan of The Bachelorette, as the drama with JoJo and Jordan and Robby and others isn’t happening. ABC is going to air other programs tonight, but all will be dramatically back to normal next week.
