Kristen Stewart allegedly started dating Robert Pattinson when she was only 18-years-old and he was only 23-years-old. Their onscreen romance in the Twilight franchise developed into a real relationship. The two didn’t officially announce that they are dating, but the paparazzi caught them cuddling and kissing on the set of On The Road in 2010.
According to Hollywood Life , KStew even visited Rob’s family in London on the New Year’s Eve of 2010. The couple were also caught kissing on a balcony during the Cannes after-party in 2012. A few months after that incident, photos of the Los Angeles-born actress cheating on her boyfriend with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders leaked online.
The cheating scandal destroyed the relationship of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but did she ever regret dating him? During an interview with critically-acclaimed actress Juliette Lewis for Elle UK , the Cesar Award winner revealed how she almost lost her pals because of her boyfriend.
“I got really, really famous in literally a day, it was a bit like, ‘What the f**k?’ Everyone was graduating high school and I’d stopped going, so I kind of fell out of touch with the group. I was just with my boyfriend all the time,” she said. “But then I made a really conscious effort of gathering them and being like, ‘I need you.’ Now they are really awesome, they’re all really protective.”
The former child star revealed that she currently has a small group of friends whom she has known when she was still younger. These people know who the real Kristen Stewart is and not what the media has been labelling her – which is a rebel actress who doesn’t like interviews and smiling.
“The whole smiling thing is weird because I actually smile a lot. I literally want to be like, ‘Dude, you would think I was cool if you got to know me!’” she said. “But so many people make so much money off these character traits that they have assigned me, and so many articles are written every single day about them, if they change my character, it wouldn’t make sense.”
It’s been three years since the cheating scandal came out, but Stewart admitted that re-living the feeling of being in love at a young agewas not that easy. This is what she had to face when she was filming Equalswith rumored fling Nicholas Hoult.
“I definitely wear my heart on my sleeve,” Kristen told E! News at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Sometimes that provides a little bit of a tougher road, but for me it’s definitely more preferable.”
“It’s such a grand look at awakening. You take every first you ever had and you bottle it up in a moment and the devastating effect is something like anyone who has fallen in love at a young age has felt,” she added.
According to the award-winning actress, it wasn’t easy for her to revisit her past, but she’s interested in doing a project that takes her from a real place. Since Equals was about raw love, then she can easily relate to the character and doesn’t seem to regret what happened to her.
“Unless my heart is not in it, I don’t understand why we’re there. Every day that’s led up to this day has made me who I am… Everything I have, I have put into this movie,” she said.
It is still unclear who Kristen Stewart was referring to as her first love and boyfriend during her interview with Elleand E! News. Before getting in a relationship with Robert Pattinson, the actress reportedly dated Michael Angarano between 2005 until 2009.
There were rumors that the Speak co-stars broke up because of the British actor and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke may agree to that. During an interview with Vulture , the filmmaker revealed the relationship of Kristen with Michael.
“He’s a wonderful actor. He was in Dogtown , one of my favorites, so I felt pretty bad because I love him and they were such a great couple,” Hardwicke confessed.
