‘The Originals’ Season 4: Danielle Campbell On Davina’s Final Fate And Cami’s ‘Beautiful’ Death [Spoilers]

The Originals Season 4 is not due to premiere until next year. It was shocking since many fans expected it to return this fall. However, The CW network decided to postpone the vampire series. Despite it being pushed back, there is still plenty to report about the television show. Recently, actress Danielle Campbell spoke about Davina’s fate and Cami’s death.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, fans mourned the loss of some characters on The Originals last season. Davina (Danielle Campbell) was killed and so was Cami (Leah Pipes). Recently, Campbell spoke about the character deaths. According to The Christian Post, many fans wonder if Davina will return. It certainly is a possibility given that The Originals is a supernatural TV show. However, don’t get too excited. That doesn’t mean that everyone gets to return, including fan favorite characters like Davina.

“It’s hard to say for sure. A lot of it depends on story arcs and availability down the line, but I think it’s going to be up in the air,” Danielle Campbell told TV Line regarding if Davina’s death is really final. “[The producers and writers are] still going to be figuring out the next storylines once they return for the next season, so it hinges on what’ll happen a few months from now. But never say never!”

Executive producer Michael Narducci also had something to say about Davina and Cami’s deaths in The Originals. He teased that even though Davina is gone, there is still more to the story.

“Yes, Davina is seemingly gone at the end of episode 20,” Michael Narducci told Entertainment Weekly, “but there’s still more story to tell with the ancestors. There’s still more story to tell with Kol and Vincent and even Marcel wanting revenge against them. I’d say there’s still more story to tell with Davina.”

As for Cami’s death on The Originals, what did Danielle Campbell have to say about it? It was heartbreaking and Leah Pipes did an amazing job making viewers feel raw emotion when watching the episode.

“I think the writers did what they always do so well: They made her death really beautiful,” Campbell said about Cami’s death. “In her last dying moments, they made you love her that much more. There was such a good contrast with her laying on her death bed but also being in the dream sequence with Klaus. That was so beautiful, and Leah [Pipes] did such a great job. She really killed it.”

There was also news that one cast member could be returning in Season 4. Claire Holt revealed in an interview with Access Hollywood that she and the producers had been talking about Rebekah Mikaelson. The actress is currently on another show, NBC’s Aquarius. However, Holt joked that Rebekah returns in every season of The Originals.

As fans recall from Season 3 of The Originals, Rebekah, Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), Freya (Riley Voelkel), and Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) were transported to a dreamscape. Meanwhile, Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) was in an agony-induced coma and placed in a brick tomb by Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis). It was revealed that Klaus will at some point awaken in Season 4, but it might not be by the Mikaelsons or even Hayley.

“I don’t know you should assume that the Mikaelsons are the ones that get Klaus out,” The Originals executive producer Michael Narducci told TV Guide. “Maybe there’s some other person that’s going to get Klaus out. Maybe Klaus will get himself out. Maybe someone is going to decide that there’s a big problem in the world and Klaus Mikaelson is the only person that can help us deal with it.”

By the sound of it, could it be possible that Marcel gets Klaus out? Since it was made clear that Davis’ character is not a villain, then fans should expect to see an enemy in Season 4 of The Originals. No matter what else is going on, there is always a villain. Perhaps Marcel will need help dealing with it and Klaus will be the only person who can help him.

As for Klaus Mikaelson’s siblings, it is not known if they will leave the dreamscape. However, their stories will continue in Season 4. It was teased that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will communicate with the Mikaelson family through dreams. Also, fans will see some interaction between Rebekah, Kol, Freya, and Elijah.

“… as we explore what’s going on with the Mikaelsons who are in this dreamscape that Freya has created as they lie in hibernation, and how are they going to save themselves? What’s going to be their status once they return? Where is Rebekah? Where is Freya? Where is Kol? Where is Elijah? We definitely want to tell those stories and show those interactions,” Narducci told EW. “I also think that all of those siblings know their brother Klaus made the ultimate sacrifice for them; they’ve got to get together and go get their brother, and I love that. I love that for once the siblings deciding, we can’t let our brother Klaus down. He actually did the right thing, and now we’ve got to go find out where he is and what’s going on with him.”
