Jake Gyllenhaal Wants Dakota Johnson Back — ‘Southpaw’ Star Ready To Marry The ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Star
Does Jake Gyllenhaal want to get back with Dakota Johnson?
Gyllenhaal and the Fifty Shades Darker star ended things back in 2011, but reports indicate that he’s now ready for a serious relationship.
According to Enstarz, the Southpaw star met up with Johnson last summer while she was on a break with Matthew Hilt. Although they hit it off, Johnson reunited with Hilt shortly after.
Now that Johnson is busy filming Fifty Shades Darker, she hasn’t had much time to devote to Hilt.
“Dakota and Matthew have dated on-and-off for the past two years,” an insider shared. “They didn’t get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn’t align. She’s been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy.”
According to Movie News Guide, Johnson and Hilt have taken another break because of her career. It isn’t clear if they will get back together once she is finished with Fifty Shades Darker.
If Gyllenhaal wants to reunite with Johnson, he might have a difficult time convincing her. Morning News USA is reporting that Johnson might not want Gyllenhaal back because of how their relationship ended.
The two dated for a short period in 2011 and ended their relationship after Johnson wanted to get serious.
“Even though it was just a fling, Dakota had really strong feelings for him, so when he dumped her out of the blue, she was really shocked,” an insider revealed. “But it was all because Jake freaked out, as he’s a bit of a commitment-phobe.”
Despite Johnson’s hesitancy, Gyllenhaal is not giving up that easy. Instead, he’s willing to prove that this time will be different.
“There was so much chemistry between them when they met up, and he’s now arranged a romantic dinner for them in New York,” the source continued.
Gyllenhaal has been linked to a number of different celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon. Apparently, Johnson stood out above the rest.
In fact, Jake Gyllenhaal is prepared to take their romance to the next level and is not afraid of a long-term commitment.
During a recent interview with Howard Stern, the actor admitted that he plans on getting married eventually.
“Oh, I hope to get married. I think it’s hard for everybody, man. But I also think at some point, you just decide to grow up, you know?” he said.
At this time, Gyllenhaal has not confirmed his plans with Johnson. The only questions remaining are whether or not he’s grown up and is ready for a big commitment.
While she hasn’t been spotted with Gyllenhaal, the actress is warming up to Jamie Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner.
Johnson and Warner met for a special lunch date together last week. Warner is living in Vancouver while her husband wraps filming for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
Although rumors surfaced of a potential relationship between Johnson and Dornan, it appears as though she has become good friends with Warner.
Meanwhile, Johnson has yet to hint of a renewed romance with Gyllenhaal.
Of course, Johnson’s busy filming schedule might prevent her from meeting with Gyllenhaal. Until more information is revealed, fans will have to wait and see if the two get back together.
