Brad Pitt Doesn’t Feel Safe Without A Gun
Brad Pitt is well-known as a staunch Hollywood liberal, but he does have at least one signature conservative value. Pitt believes in the right to bear arms, and to get his gun, you’d have to pry it from his cold, dead hands.
Brad Pitt is a fan of keeping guns around the house, according to an interview he gave to Daily Mail Live magazine. The Pitt/Jolie house is flooded with both children and a few firearms, as Pitt simply doesn’t feel safe without them around. “America is a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere,” Pitt said.
“That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”
Pitt also pointed out that children can be raised with guns and still turn out to be responsible adults, citing himself as an example. “I got my first BB gun when I was in nursery school,” Pitt explained. “I got my first shotgun by first grade, I had shot a handgun by third grade and I grew up in a pretty sane environment.”
Pitt also talked about how he manages to make time for his large family what with the hectic schedules both he and Angelina Jolie frequently have. “Right now, Mama is working but the day always starts with breakfast, all of us together,” he explained. “It’s chaos and a joy. When they are young like this, it’s special, and I’m very aware they’ll be grown up before we know it. I see it already and I’m clinging on with my nails.”
