Tom Hiddleston & Taylor Swift’s Romance A ‘Huge Power Play’ To Land James Bond Role
Rumors are continuing to swirl that Tom Hiddleston may be using his high-profile romance with Taylor Swift as an avenue to land himself the role of James Bond.
According to a new report by Hollywood Life, Hiddleston believes dating Swift will make him the frontrunner to land the role of the British spy in the upcoming instalment of the action franchise, putting him ahead of previously mentioned names like Idris Elba and Tom Hardy.
“Tom is making a huge power play dating Taylor in his quest to be the next James Bond,” a source recently told the site, claiming that Hiddleston believes the international attention his and Swift’s romance is getting since they went public with their romance three weeks ago is all good publicity for the role.
“A romance with arguably the biggest pop star on the planet will guarantee you huge coverage and that can only strengthen his hand in getting the role,” the site’s insider continued, referring to Swift. “This will certainly make him clear favorite now.”
This is just the most recent in a string of reports suggesting that Tom could be using his new romance with Swift as leverage in his attempts to be the next James Bond ever since Hiddleston and Swift were spotted getting seriously cozy in candid photos published by The Sun.
Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams recently suggested that Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift’s relationship could be a publicity stunt to get fans talking about Tom as he strives for the prestigious role.
“I suspect he’s also a bit of an opportunist,” Williams admitted of Hiddleston during the ‘Hot Topics’ segment of her daily talk show earlier this week, putting Taylor and Tom’s romance on serious blast.
“He wants to be the next James Bond, and he’s English. I suspect… Because I’d never heard of this guy before… so how do you drum up votes? By getting on Hot Topics,” Wendy speculated.
“I’m just saying! How do you get on Hot Topics?” Williams asked the studio audience of Swift’s latest relationship with the actor, “By dating somebody that we talk about!”

But it’s not just Wendy Williams speculating that Taylor and Hiddleston’s relationship may come with ulterior motives related to the British spy franchise.
According to Cosmopolitan, someone much closer to Taylor is also speculating that James Bond could be playing a role in Taylor’s newest whirlwind romance, as the site claimed that Swift’s ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris allegedly believes that Taylor may actually be looking for a 007 role of her own.
The site claimed that Harris thinks Tom and Taylor’s romance is “f****** laughable” and supposedly told friends that he believes Swift is sticking so closely to Hiddleston’s side because she believes he will be the next James Bond and is allegedly looking to land herself the role of Bond girl in the upcoming film.
The site claimed earlier this month that Calvin “thinks Taylor’s only hanging out with Tom to get herself a Bond girl role. Because [Hiddleston’s] long been in the running to become the next Bond.”
Notably, Tom and Taylor went public with their romance just two weeks after Swift called it quits with Harris following their 15-month relationship.
