Michael Bisping Calls Georges St-Pierre ‘A Little B***h’ For Leaving The UFC Because Of PEDs
Everybody has been calling out new UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping ever since he won the title by defeating Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 last month. But, as of today, we still don’t know who will be the new Champ’s first challenger.
Guys like Chris Weidman, Anderson Silva, Jacare Souza, Yoel Romero, and Dan Henderson have all called Bisping out, and so far, Henderson, who famously knocked Bisping out back at UFC 100, appears to be the front runner to ge the first crack at the new Middleweight Champion.
Last week, a new name got added to the Middleweight Title mix, as former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre officially announced his intention to return to the Octagon after being retired for 3 years. He also said that he wants to move to middleweight, and challenge Michael Bisping for the Middleweight Championship.
Bisping and St-Pierre are currently tied for the most wins in UFC history, and GSP wants to be the sole owner of that record, which is why he wants to fight Bisping.
“There are two things I’m very proud of… There’s my title — my welterweight title that I won — and there’s another record that I hold for the most wins in UFC history. And now I have someone who’s challenging me for it in Michael Bisping”
After winning a very controversial split-decision over Johny Hendricks in November of 2013, St-Pierre retired from mixed-martial-arts as the Welterweight Champion, saying that he needed to take a break from fighting. Of course, the announcement didn’t surprise most people, as there had been rumors of his retirement for several weeks leading up to the fight.
St-Pierre would later go on to say that the PED situation in MMA played a big factor in him deciding to walk away from the sport at the time. Then, when the UFC partnered with the United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA] in an attempt to crack down on PED use in the sport, St-Pierre began to express his interest in returning to the sport.
During an interview with Sirius XM’s The Countdown, Bisping called GSP a “little b***h” for leaving the UFC because of the PED situation, saying that if he was a real fighter, he’d still take the chance to beat an opponent who may be on performance-enhancing drugs.
“I have nothing against Georges St-Pierre apart from the fact that he retired from the sport and was like, ‘No, I can’t do it because people are taking performance enhancing drugs.’ Well guess what, they were and they’re getting caught. But if you’re a man, if you’re a fighter, if you’re not a little b***h, you’ll still continue to take those chances and try to beat those people.”
Bisping has, of course, fought, and lost to a great deal of opponents who would later go on to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs, which is why he feels so strongly that GSP should’ve stayed in the sport, and fought anyway.
On a recent episode of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, St-Pierre said that his age, 35, is one of the biggest reasons why he wants to return to the Octagon, because he’s “not getting any younger.” So far, UFC President Dana White hasn’t commented on who Michael Bisping’s next opponent will be, but the belief is that Bisping will fight either Dan Henderson or Georges St-Pierre first, and if he defeats either one of those two men, he’ll end up fighting the winner of the rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, which has yet to be announced.
Bisping has made it clear that he wants his first title defense to be in the United Kingdom, so whoever he fights next will have to fight “The Count” on his home turf.
