Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Wedding Details Emerge: Bette Midler Sings, Cake Driven In From Maryland
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may have wanted their wedding kept secret from the public, but the event was anything but a rush to the altar.
The pair carefully planned every detail of the wedding, Perez Hilton reported. Though only 70 guests were invited to the South Carolina ceremony, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made sure they spared no expense to make it a beautiful wedding.
Blake Lively reportedly wore a Chanel gown while Ryan Reynolds wore a tuxedo designed by Hugo Boss. Their wedding bands were designed by Manhattan jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
But one of the most remarkable aspects of the wedding was the cake, Perez Hilton reported. The nearly $3,000 wedding cake was delivered to the ceremony by truck from Maryland, a trip that took eight hours. The couple also brought in a minister from Connecticut.
The secret Blake Lively-Ryan Reynolds wedding took place at the Boone Hall Plantation, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. E! News reported that the invite list included only close friends and a few Hollywood insiders, like Blake Lively’s manager.
The reception took place under a large white tent, with music from Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, who is a close friend of Blake Lively. Bette Midler also sang at the ceremony.
The famously quiet couple had wedding rumors earlier in the summer, when a police report identified Blake Lively as Ryan Reynolds’ wife, but apparently that was a few months premature.
A friend of Blake Lively did tell E! News that the Gossip Girl star’s inner circle was surprise that she and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot so quickly, after just dating for around a year.
