Any woman would be lucky enough to Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor is not only attractive and talented, but he’s often tight-lipped when it comes to his relationships.

Jake Gyllenhaal has become the center of dating rumors for the past week. It seems like the media is confused about who the Hollywood heartthrob is dating at the moment. According to the IB Times, Gyllenhaal is reportedly giving his relationship with ex-girlfriend Dakota Johnson another shot. The two had an on-and-off relationship back in 2011, but split because Gyllenhaal is a huge “commitment-phobe.”

But now that the Fifty Shades actress is single amid her split from Matthew Hitt, an insider told Britain’s Heat magazine that Jake is keeping his eye on her. He wants to rekindle the relationship they once had, even though it was short-lived.

“Even though it was just a fling, Dakota had really strong feelings for him so when he dumped her out of the blue, she was really shocked. But it was all because Jake freaked out, as he’s a bit of a commitment-phobe.”

Now, Jake believes that Dakota is “the one that got away.” The alleged source said that the Nightcrawler star has spent years trying to win her heart back, but has failed. And now that Dakota is once again single, he’s hoping his charms will work on her again.

“This time Jake’s not taking no for an answer. There was so much chemistry between them, when they met up, and he’s now arranged a romantic dinner for them in New York.”

The Southpaw star has been making the romance rumors swirl with Rooney Mara. The new photos of the two walking around in New York City has fans talking, and it certainly looked like they’re dating. But, not so fast! In the photos, Gyllenhaal and Mara were also joined by actor Charlie McDowell, who also happens to be Mara’s boyfriend. She’s been linked to McDowell since 2010, according to Hollywood Life.

Some claimed that Jake and Rooney looked flirty when they walked side-by-side on Saturday, June 18. But it’s clear that the two are just friends since Rooney’s rumored man was walking with them in the photos. Although Rooney and Jake have never starred in any movies together, it’s clear that they run in the same Hollywood circles. Rooney’s older sister, Kate Mara, was in the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain alongside Jake and the late Heath Ledger.

Last July, Gyllenhaal told radio host Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show that despite his various Hollywood relationships, he’s only been in love “twice.” He even blamed himself for his splits and admitted that he’s a bit of a “commitment-phobe” when it comes to settling down.

“It was me, man,” he told Stern. “I think I probably just got scared.”

In that same interview, Gyllenhaal revealed that he would love to settle down with someone one day. He said that despite his relationship fears, he loves the feeling of being in love and finding that special someone.

“I love love, man. Are you kidding me?” he told the shock jock at first. “Oh, I hope to get married. I think it’s hard for everybody, man. But I also think at some point, you just decide to grow up, you know?”

And if you’re lucky, then Jake Gyllenhaal may hit on you if you’re ever eating alone inside a New York restaurant. An alleged snitch told Page Six that Gyllenhaal tried his luck on hitting on a woman in New York’s West Village earlier this month.

“Jake was trying to pick up a girl eating dinner alone at Bar Pitti. [She was] here on a business trip, eating by herself, pasta and burrata salad. He was picking up an order and sat down with her for half an hour chatting her up.”

So, did it work? Not exactly, as the source said, “She told him she had a boyfriend.”

Even Jake Gyllenhaal strikes out at love sometimes, but the good news is that he may still be single.
