Scott Brown: Elizabeth Warren Should Take A DNA Test To Prove Heritage
Former Sen. Scott Brown questioned Elizabeth Warren’s Cherokee heritage on Monday, according to CNN.
“She’s not Native American, she’s not 1/32nd, she has no Native American background, except for what her family told her,” Brown told reporters. “The easy answer, as you all know, is that Harvard and Penn can release those records, she can authorize the release of those records, she can take a DNA test, she can release the records herself. There’s never been any effort.”
Brown was a senator in Massachusetts from 2010 to 2013, where Warren is currently a senator. Brown questioned Warren’s Native American heritage during the 2012 campaign as well, according to the Washington Post. He claimed she may have gotten her positions at Harvard because of affirmative action.
“Secretary Clinton is considering making someone the vice president who has very serious character flaws when it comes to honesty and credibility and dealing with her heritage, and what did that do?” Brown said M0nday. “That took away somebody who truly was a Native American and gave that opportunity to somebody who is not, and that’s just not right. It’s a reverse form of racism, quite frankly.”Scott Brown is a vocal Donald Trump supporter. Donald Trump has also tried to use Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage when engaging her on Twitter, often referring to her as “Pocahontas.”
“Elizabeth Warren is a total fraud. I know it,” Trump told Hallie Jackson of NBC News on Monday, according to Salon. “She made up her heritage, which I think is racist. I think she is a racist, actually because what she did was very racist.”
Elizabeth Warren is currently campaigning with Hillary Clinton, and many have suggested Warren might be Clinton’s pick for vice president. Warren used the stage to attack Trump several times on Monday.
“When Donald Trump says ‘great,’ I ask: ‘great for who, exactly?'” Warren said. “When Donald says he’ll make America great, he means greater for rich guys just like Donald Trump. That’s who Donald Trump is… And you have to watch out for him, because he’ll crush you into the dirt.”
Warren also referred to Trump as a “small, insecure money grubber.” Besides calling her Pocahontas, Trump also refers to her as “goofy Elizabeth Warren.” Warren responded to this by calling Trump goofy over his signature campaign hats.
“Now, Donald Trump says he’ll make America great again… It’s stamped on the front of his goofy hats,” Warren said. “You want to see goofy? Look at him in that hat.”Clinton said Monday that she loves how Warren is able to get under Trump’s skin and praised her for her efforts. She also repeated the accusation that Donald Trump is temperamentally unfit to be president.
Clinton said Trump wouldn’t be able to handle a crisis, and she questioned his judgment.
“Imagine Donald Trump sitting in the Oval Office the next time America faces a crisis,” Clinton said. “Imagine him being in charge when your jobs and savings are at stake. Imagine him trying to figure out what to do in case of an emergency.”
Many have pointed out that Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren do not seem like a fitting team, because Warren has often criticized the economic policies supported by the Clintons in the 1990s. However, Warren’s latest comments have been very supportive of Clinton.
“She knows what it takes to defeat a thin-skinned bully who is driven by greed and hate,” Warren said on Monday. “She doesn’t whine. She doesn’t run to Twitter to call her opponents fat pigs or dummies.”
