‘Sense8’ Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date: Lito and Hernando’s Love Put To The Test

The filming for Sense8 Season 2 is in full swing. The cast, led by director Lana Wachowski, just finished filming a couple episodes in Chicago and are now headed to Germany.

According to Christian Times, the entire cast and crew of Sense8 are heading to Germany after a 10-day shoot in Chicago. They recently finished filming a big scene at the University of Chicago, which involved 120 extras.

In a previous interview with Gold Derby, Sense8 creator J. Michael Straczynski revealed that they went all-out for Season 2, with several episodes shot in various locations across the globe. Although this was incredibly difficult to pull off, Straczynski said that they wanted to give their fans an authentic experience.

“We shot the entire show on location: San Francisco, Chicago, Mexico City, London, Iceland, Berlin, Mumbai, Nairobi and Seoul. It was a tremendous road show. We wanted it to be authentic … Logistically it was a nightmare, but that made it feel more real.”

More than the scenic locations, fans of Sense8 can look forward to getting several of their questions answered, when the hit Netflix series returns next year. Straczynski assured viewers that Sense8 Season 2 will be a lot easier to understand compared to its predecessor. Apart from getting to know more about the sensates, Straczynski said that the mythology behind what it is to be a sensate will also be revealed.

“Are there others? Where do we come from? Why are they perceived to be a threat? So really the second season is about providing a lot of answers to the questions that viewers had after seeing the first season,” he explained.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Buzzfeed, Miguel Angel Silvestre, who plays Lito Rodriguez on the show, revealed that Season 2 is going to be challenging for his character. When Lito chose Hernando (Alfonso Herrera) and Daniela (Erendira Ibarra) over his career, he knew that there would be repercussions. Silvestre said that their love will once again be put to the test when the Netflix original series returns.

“The three of them are going to face a very rough, cruel reality. It’s like a big test for the three of them, where love trembles too, because everything trembles around you when the soul or the ground is so rough. It proves that you’re always making decisions, love-wise. We’ll see how they handle their own love when everything around them is trembling.”

During the recent Sao Paulo Gay Pride, Silvestre and Herrera danced and made out on top of a float while Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)” played. Both actors showed no inhibitions, fully committed to their character. In an interview with Out magazine, the actors revealed that they had to “let go of their ego” if they truly wanted to give their characters justice.

Perhaps some of the most talked about scenes in Sense8 Season 1 involves steamy sex scenes between Lito and Hernando. While both actors are straight, Herrera admitted that most of the scenes were quite beautiful and perfectly captured their feelings towards one another. He added that Lana Wachowski has always been very specific on how she wanted a scene to look.

However, more than just the steamy sex scenes between Lito and Hernando, Herrera reminded fans that Sense8 had a much deeper message. He explained that it was all about inclusion and acceptance.

“No matter the color of your skin, no matter your sexual preference, no matter your religion, no matter your nationality, we’re all connected. I’m quite happy to be a part of this show with this revolutionary story and a platform that revolutionized away we watch TV with directors that revolutionized cinema. “
