‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Spoilers: What Happens Next?
The Game of Thrones Season 6 finale was so good that many viewers are already looking ahead to Season 7, and what may happen when they get to return to Westeros for the penultimate season.
After watching the epic Season 6 finale, Game of Thrones fans have been left with so many unanswered questions about the future of their favorite characters, and there are already spoilers and rumors running wild about what the storylines may be in Season 7.
According to Vanity Fair, there are a few things that can be expected and speculated about. Cersei, whom viewers watched blow up the Sept, killing the High Sparrow and Queen Margaery in the finale, was crowned queen after her son, King Tommen, threw himself out the window of the Red Keep.
Cersei’s brother and lover, Jaime Lannister, returned home to King’s Landing just in time to watch his sister take a seat on the iron throne, and some Game of Thrones fans believe this storyline could lead to one of the most talked about theories on the internet.
Will Jaime kill Cersei? Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau says Jaime is in “shock” as he sees his sister be crowned.“[Jaime] does not understand what the game plan is. No one will accept [Cersei] as queen willingly. I’m not sure he understands or knows who that person is now. And that’s scary.”
Since Game of Thrones fans know that Jaime was forced to kill Mad King Aerys because he threatened to blow up King’s Landing using wildfire, he may have to do the same to his sister, Cersei, who has already gotten further in Aerys’ plan than Jaime would have allowed.
Unfortunately for Cersei, she may not reign as long as she would like. Daenerys Targaryen is coming for the iron throne, and she’s got more manpower than anyone could have ever imagined. Dany’s army consists of the Unsullied, the Dothraki, Theon and Yara Greyjoy’s men, and thanks to Varys, the people of Dorne and House Tyrell. Also, her three massive dragons.
When Daenerys finally gets to King’s Landing, she will be a force to be reckoned with. It almost seems like it would be all too easy for Dany to take the iron throne from Cersei and the Lannister men, and since we know there are two seasons of Game of Thrones left, it seems only right to assume Daenerys could run into a bit of trouble on her journey. However, the Game of Thrones Season 7 storyline most fans will be talking about is that of Jon Snow. During the Season 6 finale, viewers finally got confirmation about the R+L=J theory. During a scene where Bran, the new Three-Eyed Raven, went into the Tower of Joy with his father, Ned Stark, he saw that Jon Snow was not actually Ned’s illegitimate son, but the son of Ned’s sister, Lyanna Stark, and Rhaegar Targaryen. This means that Jon is both Stark and Targaryen, and when everyone finds out, it will likely deliver some of the most exciting scenes in the show’s history.
Meanwhile, as Game of Thrones fans have become resigned to the idea that Lady Stoneheart will not be featured in the series, there are rumblings that Catelyn Stark’s daughter, Arya Stark, will take a bit of that storyline. In the Season 6 finale, fans watched as Arya killed Walder Frey and his sons out of revenge for the Red Wedding. Will Arya become a vengeance fueled killing machine? Could she band together with The Brotherhood in hopes of crossing more names off of her list? Fans can’t wait to find out.
Game of Thrones Season 7 is sure to be amazing. However, fans will have to wait until spring 2017 to see how it all unfolds.
