Phaedra Parks has been trying to move on from her failed marriage over the past couple of years, as her estranged husband, Apollo Nida, has been serving time for fraud and identity theft. He was sentenced and sent to prison while filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta , and Phaedra has been working on her divorce papers from Atlanta. As it turns out, Parks may not be so understanding when it comes to Apollo, who probably wants to stay married to the powerful attorney from Georgia. But Phaedra may not be too pleased when she learns that her estranged husband has been causing trouble behind bars.
According to a new Radar Online report, Phaedra Parks is now learning that her estranged husband is causing trouble behind bars. As it turns out, Nida – who is serving an eight-year sentence for bank fraud and identity theft – has been causing trouble with the other inmates. Apparently, he is rude and he breaks the rules because he thinks he’s famous and a celebrity.
“Apollo doesn’t respect the other inmates,” the source says about the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, adding, “He has no regard for simple etiquette.”
An example was when Apollo refused to wait in line for the microwave. He decided to cut in line in front of the others during mealtime. The source also reveals that Apollo interrupted a game of pool during recreation time, so he could start a game of his own.
“Apollo thinks he’s better than everyone else because he’s famous,” the insider explains. “Obviously, his behavior doesn’t win him any friends.”
And this isn’t the first time that he’s been in trouble. Nida was forced into a maximum security facility after he was caught smuggling a cell phone into the prison, which is a serious violation. He had previously been close to Phaedra Parks and the children in Kentucky, but when he was caught smuggling, he was transferred.
Of course, Phaedra Parks was not his lawyer during this trial. In fact, Parks didn’t even show up to his sentencing and she wasn’t there when he turned himself in. Phaedra wanted to protect her children
“My first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our children. As I have voiced on many occasions, my primary concern about the visit was how it would impact our sons. I know how that life experiences shape a child’s perspective of the world; so my thoughts were all based on the possible negative impacts to our sons. I was praying for their spiritual covering and the wisdom to respond to any questions they may have during and after the visit,” Phaedra Parks explained in one of her final blogs for The Real Housewives of Atlanta .
On the show, Parks revealed that she really wanted her sons to have a relationship with their father while he was serving time. While filming, Phaedra would make sure that their sons would talk to their father, so they kept a relationship with him. But Parks wasn’t sure if she wanted to bring her sons to the jail, so they could see their father in that environment. As the season ended last year, Parks decided it was time to bring her sons to the jail.
“The visit went well and I do not have any regrets. My goal has always been to facilitate a positive relationship between Apollo and our sons. I am happy that we were able to make the trip and were allowed to visit,” Phaedra Parks reveals in her blog for Bravo.
What do you think of Apollo causing trouble behind bars? Do you think Phaedra Parks will say something to him, or do you think she will leave him be, so he can learn to solve his own problems?
