Katy Perry And John Mayer’s Post-VMAs Date

Katy Perry and John Mayer were spotted enjoying a post-VMA date on Thursday night, with the latest power couple of pop getting papped at the Fifth Annual House of Hype Power Players Event.

E! News reports how the couple followed their appearances at the MTV Video Music Awards with a fashionably late arrival at the event, which was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Katy Perry and John Mayer arrived at the event at approximately 11pm, and were greeted by a predictable storm of paps and reporters. Their entourage of ten or so friends were used to walk between the couple, meaning they couldn’t be photographed together – sneaky!

Not that it worked, however – pictures later emerged of Mayer affectionately rubbing Perry’s back as they made it into the venue, confirming Katy Perry and John Mayer as basically the worst-kept secret since Kanye and Kim.

E! News goes on to report that the 27-year-old pop star and her 34-year-old companion decided against partaking in the dinner to honor DJ Kaskade, and headed straight for the ballroom and the after party which had not even begun. A guest at the party told E! the pair “were really cute” but “it seemed like they didn’t want much attention.”

The Katy Perry and John Mayer coupling might feel like it’s in the early stages, but rumors about the two being an item have been flying around since June – and last month they supposedly had their first break-up!
