‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Hesitates To Answer Question

Sunday night’s TV lineup featured the season finale episode of TLC’s Sister Wives. The show aired a special two-hour Sister Wives Tell All for the season finale. Many longstanding fan questions were answered during the special, tell-all episode.

Sister Wives gained a lot of publicity over the last year, after it was revealed first wife Meri Brown had been involved in an online emotional affair. Last summer, Meri Brown started chatting with a man online named Samuel Jacob Cooper. The relationship soon turned into more than just an online chat buddy, and Meri and Samuel were soon contacting each other by phone and text messages. Meri admitted at one point that she had started to fall in love with Sam Cooper.

It wasn’t long before Meri Brown realized something wasn’t quite right about the man she was talking to. He demanded she leave him voicemails. When she didn’t, Meri started to receive phone calls from Samuel’s female friend, telling Meri she needed to do it. It was finally revealed that Meri was being catfished by a woman named Jackie Overton. Meri claimed that Jackie used photos of an actor to trick her into believing she was a man.

Since news broke of Meri Brown’s emotional affair with catfisher Jackie Overton, the incident has continued to haunt the Sister Wives family. Jackie has released several of Meri’s voicemails, as well as a tell-all book titled almost meri’ed that is available on Amazon kindle.

When Meri was asked during the Sister Wives Tell All finale episode if there was ever a time that she wanted out of her family or marriage, Meri first hesitated with her eyes wide and mouth hanging open. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights and viewers could tell Meri was trying to process in her head the correct way to answer the question before responding. When she finally did answer, she skirted around the question and never gave a flat “yes” or “no” answer.

“There was a time in my dark, dark spot early on, before we started figuring stuff out about this person, that she was saying things, she was putting things into my head that really made me kind of question, like, what is it do I really want? And I didn’t know what I wanted, because I felt like I was just, I was just in a dark place and I didn’t know what I wanted. But as I started thinking about it, I was like, it doesn’t matter how crappy Kody and I might be, I didn’t want to be away from the kids. I mean, it really just went back to the kids.”

Meri and her Sister Wives family have been dealing with a large backlash from viewers of the show ever since the news about her emotional affair came out. Kody has attempted to defend Meri by saying that her relationship with the woman she thought was a man was only a “friendship.” He couldn’t justify their relationship being classified as an emotional affair, because they never met in person. During last night’s tell all episode, Kody flipped their “haters” the bird, and all of the wives’ mouths fell open in shock. Meri also posted this tweet after the show aired.
