The drama for JoJo Fletcher on ABC’s The Bachelorette 2016 season is still playing out, and seemingly even escalating , but that doesn’t mean that fans aren’t starting to buzz about the 2017 Bachelor season. A formal announcement will not be made about the next lead until the fall, but gossip guru Reality Steve is sharing spoilers regarding what he is hearing at this point. Who seems to be a frontrunner?
In all likelihood, the Bachelor 2017 lead will be one of JoJo Fletcher’s guys, and while it is not guaranteed, it will probably be one of the men who get at least to the hometown dates episode . If Reality Steve’s spoilers are right, that means that curious viewers will want to focus on Chase McNary , Jordan Rodgers, Robby Hayes, and Luke Pell .
There have been a couple of instances where guys eliminated earlier in their seasons still snagged the Bachelor lead gig, specifically during the seasons involving Jake Pavelka and Juan Pablo Galavis. However, many would certainly argue that those seasons did not turn out particularly well. JoJo’s final four seems to be strong enough to produce a solid candidate for the job, and Reality Steve’s spoilers detail that there does seem to be one specific frontrunner at this point.
According to Steve’s Bachelorette spoilers, Luke and Chase, will be the two men best positioned to consider the Bachelor opportunity. If the teasers regarding Fletcher’s final rose ceremony are accurate, Robby could be considered as well, but it sounds as if that is a less likely possibility. Out of Chase and Luke, which one seems to be the leading contender?
Reality Steve’s spoilers detail that he has not heard much of anything controversial or problematic about Luke this season, which is pretty significant considering all that he has detailed about Jordan, Robby, and Grant. The gossip guru said that at this point, he is hearing that Pell is likely going to get the Bachelor gig. That has been a pretty solid guess for a while now, and it doesn’t look like anything significant has come up to steer the focus elsewhere.
There are certainly some solid reasons that support the idea of Pell for Bachelor . He has a military past, which should resonate well with viewers, and he can charm the ladies with his country singer swagger. Luke doesn’t come into the franchise with scandalous stories about his dating past, like some of the others do, and he does get eliminated by JoJo in what has become the prime spot to snag the lead role.
If Reality Steve’s spoilers are correct, Luke is eliminated by Fletcher after the overnight fantasy suite dates. While it is no guarantee that this elimination spot will pave the way for that lead opportunity, there is history supporting that it helps. Just in recent seasons, for example, Ben Higgins, Chris Soules, Sean Lowe, Andi Dorfman, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and Ashley Hebert have all finished in third place in their respective initial seasons and then gone on to lead their own journey to find love.
Reality Steve went on to say that “I’d be pretty surprised if he doesn’t get it based on what I’ve heard” regarding the idea of Luke as Bachelor this winter, but it is definitely not a done deal yet. ABC will surely be featuring Pell quite a bit during the “Men Tell All” special that airs just before the finale, and the editing of his elimination after the overnight dates with JoJo will give some good insight as well. Many would guess that Pell will leap at the opportunity to become the next lead, but if he were to turn it down, that would open the door to other possibilities.
Could someone on this summer’s Bachelor in Paradise snag the role instead? Fans have always tossed around that possibility, but it doesn’t really sound as if there are any strong contenders on that front. Typically, the new Bachelor leads are not announced by ABC until September, so fans will have to wait a bit for confirmation regarding these rumors. Would you like to see Luke Pell handing out roses this winter or do you have someone else in mind?
